A Little Trouble
Tuka: Hey everyone, George addressed me earlier today and told me Jolly wasn't himself. I checked on him and he was VERY moody, I don't know why. The poor guy needs help but he won't listen to me, trust me I tried. Even Tweetie tried and still nothing. I hope he's okay.
#100FragmentsMakeOneHole day 10
Hiccup walked as calmly as he could into Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore sat behind his desk, a single piece of parchment in front of him.
"You'll have to forgive me," he said as Hiccup took a seat. "I wasn't aware you were headmaster of the Berk Dragon Academy."
"It came with the territory," Hiccup said with a small smile.
Dumbledore nodded. "May I ask why you waited until today to call this meeting?"
Hiccup fidgeted. "It's February 29, Headmaster. I'm seventeen today, and I've been told that is the age of majority here."
"You wish to speak to me as an adult?"
Hiccup took a deep breath to steady himself. "I have the highest respect for you as Headmaster of Hogwarts, and I strongly value my education here. What I want to speak to you about has nothing to do with Hogwarts or your position as Headmaster."
Dumbledore lost his smile.
The two sat in silence for a moment.
"Understand, Mr. Haddock," Dumbledore said, a trace of iron in his voice, "that from every source, I have heard you are a determined individual, not prone to exaggeration or dramatic embellishment." He paused. "This is the only reason I am listening to you now. Speak your piece."
Hiccup nodded. "Harry feels that there is a rift between the two of you, and from what I've seen I have to agree. You hardly look at him, when you do speak to him it is the bare minimum, and..." Hiccup took a breath.
"When I was growing up, my father hardly ever talked to me. And whenever he did he talked like someone skimped on the meat in his sandwich. It took me nearly dying for him to see me as I really was." He looked Dumbledore in the eyes.
"Please, sir," he said. "Just talk to him."
