hey! i regards american voice/english voice: i’ve noticed jamie saying sweater before. no one in the uk calls it a ‘sweater’ it’s always a ‘jumper’. i’m not gonna say that jumper makes more sense. but it’s the correct way.

(so like. danis purple long sleeved jumper she wears when they meet? is a jumper. jamie’s light blue jumper with little bits of red thread going through it while she’s putting flowers in the vase in the foyer? that’s a jumper. i’ve seen people call it a shirt - it’s too thick - and a sweater - american, not english.)

but! if she’s been in america for a decade it is likely that she will mix up the words a little without thinking, but the moment she realises she probably WILL immediately correct herself because nothi ng is worse than realising you’ve used an americanism.

Oh man, I don’t even have an excuse for this one (maybe that I’ve used sweater in descriptions, not dialogue? still not right...), because if there’s one English term I know is correct, it’s jumper. Oof. Very much my American bad.

(Nothing is worse than realizing you’ve used an Americanism is incredibly funny and incredibly fair, I love that.)

Personality/Birthday Zodiac Headcanons

Listed here are things that pertain to Akira if the person writing him chooses to view him as a Pisces ( example; ones that aren’t Pisces themselves and are having trouble ). Hiii I'm from the UK too, the South West though lol. But in terms of Americanisms, there was only one thing that I've ever noticed - we call appetizers 'starters' and entrees 'main course'. But your Jamie voice is absolutely nailed, I love it and I sincerely, hugely appreciate you. I'm a junior doc during these wonderful Covid times, and your fic is keeping me sane. Your stories remind me of my partner in a weird way, just the comfort and understanding that's there. So thank you.
