Helpless anger. When a character just really, really wants to smash someone's face in, but they can't, there's nothing at all they can do.

The teammate who finds the whumpee, wounded, malnourished, broken from the villain's base, but the villain is long gone with no clue as to where they might have gone, and the look on the teammate's face is dark as a stormcloud as they carry the poor whumpee out of that place, and they're no medic and all they want to do once teh medic teammate is taking care of the whumpee is to go after the villain and rip their throat out and burn their eyes off and break every bone in their body. But where would they even find the villain? They can't go off on their own to do anything if they don't even know where to start. There's other more important things to do.

Or the team leader looking at the villain who just got like half the team killed, but the situation is such that they can't do anything. The villain is in too high a position, too powerful, and there's witnesses present, witnesses who don't know what the villain has done and attacking the villain now would only get the team leader into trouble. But the villain's too careful, watches their own back too well, and besides, the team leader's sense of honor doesn't allow them to do things like backstabbings in dark alleys or poisoned foods. So they clench their fists, grit their teeth, glare daggers at the villain, and stand still and speak politely and do nothing.

Or the whumpee, pulling against their shakles, screaming, swearing, fighting the chains until their wrists bleed as the iron bands dig into their skin, trying to get to the villain, to hurt them, to kill them, but the chains hold and it's all for nothing.
