Got the chance to see Wardruna with @madalyn-maeve last night. It was such an amazingly peaceful and spiritual experience. I hope to see them again. The video is them performing Helvegen, sadly not the best video, but I was overjoyed to hear it live.

Not metal per se, but I was today years old when I found out Einar Selvik of Wardruna did another live rendition of Helvegen (The Way to Hel) with an orchestra, choir, and another one of my favorite female artists Eivør. I could cry. (I love the live versions with Aurora).

This is by far my absolute favorite song about death, dying, and remembrance. It’s such a beautiful song. I’m glad I own the vinyl record of it now. Amazing performance. Give it a listen.

For the metalheads, Einar Selvik was in Gorgoroth once upon a time. While Wardruna is Nordic folk music, I think their music and this song specifically may vibe well with black metal and/or doom metal fans.
