Vile: Exhumed is a horrific game, it doesn’t have twists and just slowly sickens you more and more without truly being explicit. It did not deserve to be banned by steam for “sexual content of real people” when it very much is not a sexual game, it is a horror game dealing with the assault and murder of women. It’s a compelling story, and short. The dev uploaded it for free, I recommend checking it out. You have the option to leave a donation too

Date Everything horror concept

Everyone talks about the realization that the objects are like, sentient, and the horror of always being watched, yadayadayada

Bare minimum horror, especially when clearly almost all the objects are very dedicated to fulfilling their role. It should instead focus on treating those objects kindly

No no, true horror is: someone has entered your house and commits some form of extreme abuse on you. Could be an ex, a family member, or a stranger.

And all these objects that care for you just have to watch. And after you sit there knowing they’ve all seen it, they all know. And part of you is bitter, they didn’t do anything, but also… what could they do? So you cry on the floor, knowing Florence is soaking up your tears, knowing they’re still watching. They’re likely desperate for you to put on the glasses, talk to someone, not be alone, they want to comfort, want to help

But you don’t know if you can handle it

I have now completed both bdt and bdt2!

BDT favorite character, routes, and ending? Easy, Strade, his routes, and I really like the “Strade loved you too much…” ending! Of course “He’ll keep you forever.” Is great cause you get to survive as his victim for longer and whatnot. But!!! Being loved too much by him… Ehe… I literally read This is Not a Romance for more crumbs and am so fucking hyped for You Kill Me Every Time.

But yeah, I wasn’t as into Sano, Akira, or Rire. You’d think a tentacle demon would really interest me, but most of his routes and endings just didn’t catch me. Sano and Akira, well, I prefer Sano of the two. But I really wish there was just more weird bug and snake stuff… idk… the fire and burning alive and whatnot just didn’t interest me that much.

BDT2 is harder, though favorite routes is Vincent. Mostly just cause he happens to take part in a few kinks that I quite enjoy… aha… BUT, none of his endings really caught me and he as a character doesn’t really catch me as much. Ren has a massive buff due to his relation to Strade, generally he’s also just endearing and cute. It’s so cute that so many of your endings have you survive, and how he starts wearing Strade’s clothes sometimes, and so on. Ok yeah he’s my fave. But Lawrence is *very* close, he just, he intrigues me! I still have so many questions! How did he survive? How did he come back? What’s with all the symbolism? What’s he related to? I want to dissect him! He’s so neat!!! And when he’s so surprised at how warm you are when yall have sex and almost says you’re his first living person… OUGHHHH, ok, yeah, my favorite ending is DEFINITELY “Lawrence kept you.”

Overall greatly enjoyed these games, probably gonna play Mark of Belial and Till Death Do Us Part next. I really do like how these first two games kept it vague to what your gender was, I was pretty easily allowed to imagine whatever I wanted for the PC. From what I understand, TDDUP is about marriage though, so I’m a bit nervous if I’m gonna be forced to play a woman.

Oh shit I nearly forgot to talk about Cain and Damien. They’re ok I guess, they really don’t hook me at all though. The autocannibalism is the only thing that has me looking at Cain.

The hopeless cycle is dark romance hetslop and if you think it isn’t then fucking prove it.

Dol already normally has mid writing but it’s especially bad in the hopeless cycle bullshit.

It’s terrible gameplay wise and the story isn’t good enough to justify it. I don’t get why there was so much praise around it, made my hopes raise a bit, and then I get hit with dumbass mild milk toast bullshit.
