It's then and there that Abraham named the place after God. In English, it reads, "The-LORD-Will-Provide," but in Hebrew, it's the name Jehovah-jireh. We understand the name Jehovah well enough, but what about jireh? Interestingly, this word is rooted in the Hebrew verb "to see." As we come closer to the actual word jireh, the meaning takes on the idea of "seeing something through." That's powerful as you consider God being One who sees things through on our behalf. He not only knows what's needed in our lives, but He also knows how to see to those needs, and He faithfully does as our provider. God's provision is based on the fact that He sees our needs and sees through the task of meeting them, and the name Jehovah-jireh is a perfect reflection of this! And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. Genesis 22:14 #Jehovah-jireh #GodWillProvide #Wednesday #HeMadeAWay
