dunno if im gonna be able to finish the rest of these in time so... here's some dead guys
@stonefangs @dapplecloud @corbett3c @lakenose
for my first attack I'm attacking @corbett3c !! with a cheeky little pic of ya boy Hemlocktail c:
mini nettleclan
underneath the cut is a post containing little chibis of each cat in nettleclan. i made the lineart recently and created multiple adaptions to fit different sorts of fur lengths, ear types, injuries, etc. i’ll be working on putting together a post like this for both jaggedclan and creekclan asap!
you are free to do whatever you wish with these...use them, admire them, print them out and pin them to a dartboard...whatever you’d like!
Cricketwing/Hemlocktail?
💓 - I like it!
…
What? Did you think I would put an “opt" rating? Or even an “I love it” rating?
Alright, lets explain this rating.
These two are certainly… Interesting… To start with, they aren’t exactly the best pair in the world - Cricketwing is more emotionally driven, while Hemlocktail is logically driven. And that fact alone creates a gap between them. They are kinda stuck in the fact that Cricket views Hem to be too smart for her, to which I don’t blame the poor girl - Hem’s not the greatest at connecting with her on an emotional level.
Not to mention Hem’s made his mistakes - and somehow Cricket has managed to put up with him?
But honestly? These two have been through so much… And that’s what bring gives me some life about these two… They we’re in the same group in the beginning, they came to Nettleclan with The Falcons, they lived through becoming the first batch of rogues to settle in Nettleclan. They’ve had their share of heartbreaks - lived through the whole mess that was the flower field incident, even if some of the pain remains. They got through the whole mess that was the compounded of Finch leaving - Cricket’s pregnancy - Swan being kidnapped - Flowerpelt being killed - and Moon’s Rogues’ invading.
They’ve been through so much, and I personally love Cricketwing to bits and pieces.
Don’t get me wrong; Hem loves Cricketwing - he truly does, and if they were to split or if Cricketwing died - he’d be devastated - at a complete loss for what to do. Unfortunately - he doesn’t communicate that enough. But hopefully in the future he will learn to connect with Cricket more emotionally - or at least get better at maintaining his relationships.
what did hemlocktail think about his kits individually? did he...have a favorite?
MMM
BRINDLEFACE“She was absolutely adorable when she was a kit, you know what her first words were? ‘Hem’! Dear Starclan I nearly keeled over with how adorable that was! She grew into a fine warrior, and trained her apprentice well. Her life ended too soon, but I’m so glad I finally get to see her again.”While Hemlocktail certainly loved all of the kits, he had a soft spot for Brindleface. He just found her so endearing and cute, and as he watched he couldn’t help but be proud of the warrior she had grown into.
FAWNSTEP“I remember playing with him in the nursery, climbing over me to avoid and hide from Brindleface. He certainly had spunk even as a kit, him and Brindleface used to fight a lot because she’d annoy him. But even so, it’s Fawnstep, and despite his gung-ho attitude, that’s what made him admirable. While his life also ended too soon, I’m glad I now get to spend time with him one-on-one.”While personalities like Fawnstep don’t tend to be on Hemlocktail’s good side, that part of Fawnstep Hemlocktail actually found to be quite endearing! (…and a bit like Finch…)
SPARROWFACE“Oh my daughter… You shouldn’t blame yourself for the blaze you didn’t set that took everyone away, there are things in this life that are out of our paws no matter what we do… I just… I wish I could tell her how proud I am of her.”While not certainly as close, Hemlocktail certainly loves his daughter. He’s proud of the warrior she’s become. He hopes that despite the trauma, that she won’t blame herself for the tragedy that befell her family during the fire, as while time can heal those emotional wounds - he knows from personal experience how something that traumatic can stay for a lifetime. He looks forward to seeing her again, hopefully after she’s lived a full life.
Quadruple-threat! What does Sunfrost think about Waspwing and Hemlocktail? And what does Whitebounce and Tarbush think about Pebblefrost?
You’re all demons for sending multiples asdfghj
Sunfrost loved Waspwing! As a friend of course. He always had a hard time connecting with cats his own age and Waspwing was pretty much his only friend close to his own age. He cared deeply for him and at one point he was developing feelings for him, but as a dedicated medicine cat he couldn’t let that happen, and the stress from his work and Waspwing being abducted ended that and changed their dynamic quite a bit.
Hemlocktail! The man! One of the prime examples of Sunfrost having older friends. Probably the first of the rogues he really befriended and liked, long before Rabbitheart even. He looked up to him and was very grateful for the mutual respect they had for each other.
Whitebounce doesn’t like Pebblefrost, but thats only because she’s a ball of energy and Pebblefrost is just... a ball. They just have such conflicting personalities and the age gap is too great for them to have any real reason to interact in any other way than a young warrior and a senior warrior tbh. Still, she finds it fun to tease and bother her, as she’s sure to snap at some point. (Which is the real fun)
Tarbush definitely doesn’t like Pebblefrost. Being such a dedicated and hardworking warrior it infuriates her to see someone simply laying about and only doing the bare minimum. She finds it insulting, and if Palestar isn’t going to do anything about it she’ll have to take matters into her own paws, which may be decidedly worse.
