He knows you a little better than you think. You don't particularly like coffee but you drink it on bad days like a lifeline. Caffeine is a drug, too. Maybe so is what he gives you.
He's everything you associate with a good boyfriend when he wants to be. Sometimes even clingy, needy. He drapes himself over your back when you try to sit up and leave in the morning, drags you back into the bed, all loosened muscle and body warmth, sun-baked dough that rests under the blankets.
"Where are you going?" The words rumble in his chest, thunder-gentle.
"Home."
He ignores that, eyes fluttering shut with you packed into his arms.
"I can't stay." You try. He's heavy, even just his arm, takes heaved effort just to shove him off. "I have work tomorrow."
"What, I'm not worth the extra time?" It's muffled into your shoulder, a voice from so deep you feel the reverberations behind you. There's a lingering taste of something, something that sounds like prove to me I'm worth it. "Leave from here."
"I can't sleep with my contacts on, and I'll need them —"
"There's a box of them under the sink in the bathroom."
This early in the morning, maybe your processing isn't the best. "What?"
"They're—"
"I heard you." Echoic memory is an understanding of what was said seconds after you ask for it to be repeated. "I just— how are they there?"
"I bought them." It's said too simply, tartly.
"How do you know my prescription?"
His body collapses over yours further, warm lips at the crux of your neck, hair tickling your ear.
"Let's go to sleep."
How naked you both are is so poignant to you, the feeling of his thigh between your legs, how the little hairs slide against your skin. "I still have to go."
"What else do you need?" (What could you find elsewhere, that you couldn't find here?)
"My coffee —"
"In the pantry, first cupboard."
"With my—"
"Yes, with the creamer and sugar that you like."
You exhale, like giving up, crawling back into the warmth of the bed, and Bunny pulls you into his arms with so much force you feel your entire body shift. "There's no way you could've known that. Are you stalking me?"
He chuckles into your collarbone, skin-soft, morning voice like ground silk. "I've seen you make your coffee."
You observe him like this, eyelashes that flit over pale skin, red eyes softened, snow-gentle.
"Why did you notice?"
The look he gives you pitter-patters, something like endearment, if you were more careful to look.
"You're not that hard to read." He's careful to keep his breathing measured. You've surprised him a little too much recently. A kind of affection that feels like it sticks to the roof of his mouth, hard to swallow.
He swallows anyways. "Stay. We can talk about this in the morning."

I was thinking about Blackice (left cat, they/them) and Magpiecall (right cat, they/them)’s relationship and I feel like Magpiecall (Magpiepaw at the time), being a fellow med cat apprentice, would be able to tell that something is wrong with Blackice (Icepaw at the time) and try helping them out, only to unfortunately be pushed away. I don’t yet know how things will entirely progress between them
