BEHOLD MY FELLOWSHIP OF THE SWORD
i wanted a reference for every time a major character is injured in tsos so here it is, to the best of my ability. i did include a few instances where injury seemed highly likely but wasn't otherwise commented on. day counter is from this timeline.
pre-tsos, right before Balinor leaves Tyrsis: Palance strikes Balinor across the face with a whip, leaving a long cut that has healed by the time he first appears (day 25)
day 34: while fighting the mist wraith, Shea falls and hits his head hard enough to briefly knock him out
day 36: Menion loses a fight with a tree. more specifically, the tree shoots venomous needles at him, hitting him in the face and hands.
day 41: creeper fight-
Flick is stung on the back of the neck while Shea is stung on the shoulder. they are both rendered unconscious by these stings (and Hendel thinks they're both dying because of them), and have minor cuts and bruises besides.
Hendel is hit hard enough to be briefly stunned.
day 41/day 42(?): the company encounters a gnome patrol. Durin and Menion receive "a number of small wounds" while Dayel is slashed across the ribs. half an hour later, Dayel collapses from a mix of blood loss + exhaustion and it takes some time to get him back up and moving.
Shea and Flick's condition continues to worsen.
Day 43: Valg fight time-
Hendel is buried under a rock fall and Flick is stuck in the head by a falling rock. This renders both unconscious for a concerning amount of time (<- understatement). Later, Hendel's shoulder and leg have to be bandaged.
Balinor and Menion are both knocked back/around by the giant monster. Menion is left limping afterwards.
later, Shea falls off a cliff and into the river below. he is bruised and battered as he is swept downstream; his face is bloodied. he also loses his boots to the river. that particular detail is forgotten almost immediately, but if you don't ignore it (like Brooks did) then Shea was forced to march all day barefoot.
day 44:
at Paranor:
a skull bearer slashes Allanon across the shoulder. later, it takes a shot at Flick, who is cut across the face and hands by sharp rocks.
both Durin and Dayel receive several slashes while fighting a gnome patrol. Durin specifically has been badly cut on an arm and leg, and for the rest of this sequence he is hampered by his injuries.
Menion's head is clipped by a pike; he does not notice.
while fighting a gnome straggler, Flick has a sword glance off his shoulder and cut into his upper arm. it bleeds enough that his sleeve is soaked through and his hand is bloodied quickly.
not at Paranor:
a skull bearer slashes Keltset "from neck to waist" and burns Panamon across the face, arms, and chest.
day 47: Menion takes his boots off to rescue Shirl, resulting in his feet and lower legs being cut and bruised. This is why I called out Shea losing his boots earlier.
day 48: while escaping the northland camp with Flick, Eventine is badly slashed across one shoulder. he passes out from blood loss and overexertion shortly afterwards.
I didn't know where to place this in the timeline earlier, but Eventine was taken prisoner after a fierce battle where every other member of his patrol was killed. he's described as wearing the remnants of a chainmail vest, with a battered and cut face. the northlanders want him alive, but don't seem concerned with his actual condition. later, Jon Lin says he's in no condition to travel. point being, Eventine started his escape already badly hurt.
day 48 or 49: on the march to Tyrsis, the wounds on Menion's feet reopen and he has to be supported by Shirl and Janus Senpre
day 50: Stenmin stabs Palance in the chest. he dies from that wound hours later.
Hendel throws a mace into Stenmin's shoulder.
battle of tyrsis speed round: Hendel and Menion both receive non-specified wounds while holding the cellar passageway; Hendel immediately dies from his. Menion beheads Stenmin.
Balinor is cut deeply above one eye.
a troll with a mace strikes Durin on the left shoulder, breaking it.
elsewhere: Shea seemingly goes into shock. Keltset dies holding up the ceiling to save Panamon and Shea.
Shea is hit on the head by falling debris, briefly knocking him out. when he wakes up, there's blood on Panamon's face too.
if you believe him, Panamon "did something to his leg"

Fakat işte bitiyordu her şey..
Ölüme yolculuk başlamıştı.
