Ieri, domenica.

La canicola parigina di questo non dà tregua. L'aria ti picchia in viso calda come un phon. il mio appartamento è diventato un forno. Anche le persiane abbassate tutto il giorno non bastano. Mi sento la t shirt incollata alla schiena mentre salgo le scale, vado a chiamare Yuko, le ho proposto un cinema oggi pomeriggio.

"Vieni al cinema, allora ?" le chiedo, vedendola già pronta con il suo cappello di paglia e un vestito leggero a fiori.

"Stavo per impazzire in casa" dice, con la sua voce calma. "Hai una proposta?"

"Ecoles Cinema Club. Non lontano. Posto tranquillo, con aria condizionata e fanno vecchi film. Oggi non so quale però.

“Tentiamo la sorte, andiamo”.

Ci incamminiamo insieme. La strada per il cinema è breve, ma il sole picchia duro e ci ripariamo sotto le tende dei negozi. Parliamo di cose leggere: del condominio, delle prossime ferie. Lei farà un ritiro spirituale al Plum Village, vicino a Bordeaux, il monastero fondato da Thich Nhat Hanh.

Arriviamo al cinema alle 1730. Proiettano “Kramer contro Kramer” . Visto una vita fa e lo ricordo come un melodramma pesante.

“Io non l’ho mai visto, poi ha preso 5 oscar !” dice ridendo Yuko, e allora entriamo, almeno si sta freschi. Nella sala, piccola 4 persone oltre a noi.

Il film alla fine è come ricordavo. Le luci si accendono e ci guardiamo. Lei sorride, un po' imbarazzata. "Non male" dice. "Non è un capolavoro, ma mi ha fatto pensare a mio Camminando verso casa, prendiamo un gelato.

"Grazie per oggi" dice Yuko, con quella sua semplicità che mi fa sempre sentire in pace.

"Grazie a te. È stato un modo perfetto per fuggire dal caldo."

E mentre entriamo nella nostra corte, sento per un attimo che la vita potrebbe essere così: un'amica, un film, un gelato. Niente di complicato. Niente attese, niente paure. Solo un pomeriggio rubato al sole di luglio.
