Apparently, he belonged to the past Hephaestus kids here at camp, and was lost.. whatever happened to him, I don't know, but that lion is OLD."

A child of Hepheastus obsessed with pokemon before they find out they're a demigod.

When they find out they're so excited because of all the possibilities and immediately start planning a automaton of their favourite pokemon.

They spend months on end planning, and tweaking, and making prototype after prototype, all while hiding what they're doing from their siblings, because it's a personal project it's something they've dreamt of for years and they need it to be perfect before they make their big reveal.

Then one morning the rest of Cabin 9 walk into the forge and are greeted by this bronze, waist height, automaton coming over to introduce itself, and suddenly everyone at camp wants their own companion pokemon for quests or just to play with.

Hephaestus also adopts children with bad home lives to give them protection

He knows what it’s like to be shunned so he gives those kids a home

Cabin 9 Headcanons!

Hi! Here are some headcanons for my amazing siblings in the Hephaestus Cabin!!

- We’re all some form of disabled or neurodivergent! Some of us are born with our disability and others become disabled later in life.

- We tend to sing in the cabin. Control over the music rotates between cabin members!

- Safety equipment is *required* for the forge part of the cabin. No exceptions (*glares at Leo*)

- There is only one token white cabin member

- There are huge celebrations for Pride and everyone’s Heritage Months because Hephaestus kids protect their own

- Anyone who’s new to crafting or the forge is assigned to a veteran forge worker so they can learn

- Hephaestus kids are the mom friends

- the default music station is classic rock/metal

- Hephaestus kids dressing in all styles of academia when they’re not actively crafting

- Free math, chemistry, and inorganic sciences help, co-run by the Athena kids

- Hephaestus kids understand math innately

- When one of them dies, their projects are completed by their closest sibling in the cabin as a way to remember them
