You Saved Me

Amanda a month into captivity of the demons

Trigger Warnings: Injuries, Gore

      Amanda felt him walk into the room. It had been days since they were allowed to see each other. She was afraid they may have been catching on, that they knew Jameson wasn’t with her just to make this hybrid baby happen. His emotions were always clear in his eyes. When he looked at her, Amanda could see the harshness flick away. They held longing instead, a need to be close to her. It made her nervous, but it also helped her feel safe. She trusted him not to hurt her. He was protecting her, protecting this baby. He was her only hope of staying alive. 

Jameson migrated to her, his pace quickening with every step. When they collided, they both let out a sigh of relief, his hands rushing to hold the small bump that now emerged from her. Amanda leaned against him, her head on his shoulder. They didn’t even speak to each other, they just stood in mutual needy silence.

Feeling a wetness spread across her cheek as she leaned, Amanda gasped. She jerked her head back, feeling it on his shirt. “Jameson, you’re bleeding..” she whispers, looking at the blood smeared onto her fingers. He stays quiet, while she lifts his shirt. Cuts lined down the left side of his chest, gaping. “Oh my.. why did?” She looks up at his face, he is staring at the floor. 

“I defended you.” Jameson says it shortly, and all she can do is frown. “They wanted to move you. They see the baby growing. They were going to take you away from me, some place I can’t keep you safe.”

“So they cut you?” she returns her attention back to the cuts, quickly trying to help the wounds.

“If I wanted to keep you, I had to show my loyalty. Make it clear I had the intentions of the demons in mind.” He hisses as she pokes into the cuts, but lets her continue. 

“So you did this to yourself?” Amanda looks back to his eyes now, and Jameson just nods. So strong, how could he be so strong? He meets her eyes, and there she watches it. Stone cold, folding into a soft, sad gaze. “I don’t know why you go through all these lengths for me.” She had the thought often, always trying to figure out why Jameson protected her so fiercely. He was a demon, he was supposed to hate her very guts to his core. He had been beaten and abused, told to hate her, to use her. And here he stood before her, gashes and blood, all to keep her here and with him so he can watch over her. Amanda didn’t want to face the fact that maybe Jameson loved her. She had a husband, she was carrying his baby. That wasn’t at all a thought she could entertain.  

Jameson stayed quiet, he couldn’t reply to her right away. Taking her hand in his, he sits himself on the floor, pulling her down with him. Amanda is seated on his legs, staring at him, waiting for an answer. “We’re both prisoners here, Amanda. We have to look out for each other. You have a baby inside of you that isn’t made from me, made for this evil. That baby is made from love. I don’t want to let that be murdered. One day, that baby is gonna fight whatever it is that these demons are starting. I want to know that somewhere there’s a hero out there.”

Amanda stared blankly. She put her hands over her small bump of a belly, her head laying back on his chest. Jameson can only kiss the top of her head, “I won’t let anything happen to you. I swear by it.”

When Temari hadn’t returned to Konoha on time, a team had been put together to find her. Shikamaru had, of course, demanded to go with the team. After all, anything that could hold up Temari cannot be a good thing. And he’s not happy to be right. Especially when he sees the woman go over the side of a fucking cliff just as they reach her battleground.

“What does it look like, you troublesome woman?!” Shikamaru grits out as he starts hauling Temari up onto more solid ground, “I’m saving your ass! Got a problem with it? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure that you’d have more problems if I hadn’t caught you. And gods burning, that fan of yours is heavy as fuck!!!“

Despite his harsh tone, it is mostly fear that pushes anger into his voice. He would have been made to watch one of his best friends become a smear on the ground below if he hadn’t been as fast to get to her.

Temari panted as she hit the ground, kneeling there to catch her breath. Sure, she hadn’t been the one to haul herself up but she’d just taken out nine of the ten highly skilled ninja in the area. It had taken extensive tactical skills, as well as a majority of her Chakra. 

“Of course I don’t have a problem with it! I just wasn’t expecting Konoha to send out someone.” She breathed out. “It’s not as if they’d sent me with backup, to begin with.” Okay, that wasn’t their fault. In the beginning, they thought there would only be three, not ten ninja. 

“Thank you,” it left a bad taste in her mouth, knowing she had to be saved. But she truly did appreciate it, and she would not let it go without showing her appreciation. “Gods, these ninja were good. Be careful when it comes to the last one. He’s smart.” Not as smart as her or Shikamaru, but it didn’t help that Temari was out of Chakra and couldn’t think straight.

Uncle ( or aunt? ) to the rescue! Give her green tea for the coughing fit.

     Thank you, you glorious addition to the family. The tea tastes quite nice and makes her feel a bit calmer, as well as a bit sleepier, but she’d stay up until her coughing was completely gone. She gives a little squeak of approval and thanks.
