y e ah i mean all dragon age charas are shit in their own but ppl try and prsent anders being bad as bad writing and its like? one of the few charas who was written ok imo cont. (

personally i think most characters are written pretty well? my problem with DAI is that none of the characters had really clear defined growth, the only exceptions being Cassandra (because of her finding out about what the Seekers really are) and Lelianna (because of how you can harden her or not harden her). And Cullen, of course.

But like yeah, an example of fans blaming 'bad writing’ for a character’s bad choices, would be Anders reaction when Fenris could have been returned to his master. He was all for it. Most people were like 'noo Anders would’ve been able to see that they were both oppressed -’ no. In retrospect I really don’t think that was the case. Anders had been hurt so badly by non-mages that he saw any non-mage that outright hated mages as a threat, and combining that with the fact that he was posessed by Justice and doesn’t like Fenris - it makes perfect sense that Anders would be all for a 'non-mage being oppressed by a mage’. Fucked up as it is, he’s a fucked up character. Fenris’s arch is one of recovery from his trauma, Anders’ is not.

If we’re going to talk about Bull and his feelings about trans people I think it’s really heavily presentation-based (much like the transphobic/transmisogynistic writers of dragon age). He deliberately misgenders Cassandra because she is a warrior and under the Qun women are not warriors, and I believe that if Krem presented in a way that wasn’t read as 100% male Bull wouldn’t respect Krem’s transness at all. But idn, that’s just meta. It still shouldn’t be like that, or it should be written narratively to be a negative thing. Bull grew up under the Qun where your role/occupation is more important than your gender and so Qunari gender is different then Fereldan gender (or you know. Our genders), but still Qunari people aren’t playing this game? Transphobes and trans people are playing these games. We deserve a better transgender narrative then Krem for so many reasons.

So Cassandra finally friendzoned my fem!inquisitor. Bioware must truly hate gay girls to create an entire cutscene based on a straight girl rejecting a female character that was flirting with them (making it impossible to flirt and not creating hope would be less cruel). 

But anyway, almost like an apology, you can find this letter in a nearby room. It's worth noting that this part of the castle is only accessible (to my knowledge) to you after the cutscene with Cassandra.

I KNOW and i shudder to think that they didn’t even get permission to have the artists’ work shown on tv, i mean maybe they did and the artists were cool with it?? but on the off-chance they didn’t, i’m disturbed
