I’ve committed a sin. I drew a person. A real person. I haven’t tried doing that since, hell, fifth grade maybe. The, uh, figure on the left here is just copied from this, verbatim, except for the cute little head tilt. The face was supposed to look like this woman here. It doesn’t really, but it’s not an altogether incorrect face. I’m not sure if I’m going to be doing more of this in the future or not. At the very least, I’m going to be drawing the hell out of random poses, but I don’t know about the human faces. We’ll see.

The life of Dionysus was an interesting one. As one of the lesser gods on Mount Olympus, he could be a little whiney (pun intended). Nevertheless, he was important to the people of Greece. As the God of the Grape Harvest, Wine, Wine-making, Ritual Madness, Fertility and more, he was the only god on Mount Olympus to have a mortal mother, as well as the last god to be accepted.
His birth sets him apart from the other gods most drastically. His mother was mortal and his father was Zeus (go figure) and his mother died before Dionysus was ready to be born when Zeus was forced to reveal his godliness to the mortal (killing her). So naturally, in efforts to save his premature son, Zeus took Dionysus and sewed him into his thigh. Zeus' jealous wife (Hera) is responsible for most of the problems Dionysus experienced, because of her constant sabotage.
