This ancient bastion was already in ruins before it was repurposed as a radio tower in modern times. Used to study the ways the Red Moss communicates, it now has been claimed by those it sought to study.

In those lumps clustered against the base of the tower are hundreds of infected individuals that have “rooted”, wherein the moss consumes the host body to plant down roots and extend their own antennas. The end of the tail on Red Moss infected is a special organ that produces and receives electromagnetic signals. When many infected become rooted, usually against the base of a tree, they can create organic waystations to amplify and repeat signals from afar. The stages of Red Moss. A parasitic moss that grows inside the victim and emerges as photosynthetic growths. The final stages of the disease involve the victim’s back and face covered by the moss, considered to be a kind of death in that the person they once were is no more- their brain and central nervous system taken over. Red Moss infected are not like the typical zombie however, as they have no drive to bite to spread the disease. Instead, they seasonally grow stalks that spread spores and infect those who inhale them. Migrating to populated areas in the blooming season is how the infected attempt to self-propagate.

The Rubicund claim to have a cure for Red Moss however- Inoculation with a related disease that never reaches past the budding phase.
