I literally did not feel like editing this at all so have fun *gestures downwards*

It’s sort of a terrifying thing to think that a king of a kingdom, a ruler of a land, would put an arrow through the back of someone who didn’t do what they wanted to be done. That they’d stab someone who wouldn’t do their dirty work. That they’d hurt someone innocent.

Because you know they will. Know that when 24 hours is up and your answer doesn’t change, that poor sod would be you.

They look at you with smiles, when they come to you for help. They hurt you with their scowls, when you say what they’ve all said - no. To a challenge of bravery and strength and will. Why would you be here if any one of them had ever said yes? And now, again, they shower you with praise, when they ask you to reconsider.

Then they shove you in a holding cell, and give you 24 hours.

Right, you remind yourself, a room, not a cell.

Because that’s what they’d called it. A room for their esteemed guest and their saviour and their friend.

But putting a flower in a cell doesn’t change what it was meant to be. You’re still trapped against your will, still stuck in a loop you should have never through in the first place. The pretty bed and the high ceiling and shiny mirror doesn’t change the fact that they’d drag you out of here, kicking and screaming, until your room next would be a guillotine.

The only reason, you know, you’re not being tortured to comply is because you’re valuable. Not in a way that anyone would ever think you’re valuable, no. Your athleticism is valuable, your strength is valuable, but you?

Oh please, don’t make yourself laugh.

The door creaks and you whip around. Three figures walk through.

“So, have you made your choice?”
