“ you should probably leave my dressing room before somebody sees you . “
♛ william ll @aftonightmare
It had just been something that Mike hadn’t really bothered to care doing since he arrived in Spirale - looking to see where he’s walking to make sure he doesn’t bump into others. He had made his share of running directly into someone, but he would simply utter an apology with a halfhearted “I’ll look where I’m going next time,” as he continues on his path - and today was no exception.
Mike finds himself colliding into the back of someone far taller than him, hard enough to nearly knock the hat off his head. He had no clue why he bothered to still wear the damn thing in the first place, he was no longer a security guard during his time here. It was the closest thing he has to home, he supposed. He keeps his attention down to the floor below, reaching up to adjust the hat on his head as he lets out a quiet sigh.
“I’m s--” Yet, as he looks up to see who it was he had bumped into, Mike finds his words caught in his throat.
Never in a million years did Mike ever think that he would cross paths with him again. Well - actually, he can take that back. He knew one day it would come eventually, but did he expect it would come this soon? No-- never. For a second, Mike considers stepping back and running as far away as he can in that possible moment, but he’s already bumped into him and his wide blue eyes filled with fear meet those cold-stoned purple irises, and he knows there’s no turning back, now.
Besides - if he were to even try, he knows that the man in front of him would only track him down and bother him. He didn’t think that he’d be running into him this soon - and the thought was horrifying to him, needless to say.
He knew this day was going to be coming eventually. Was he ready for it-? By god, no. He wasn’t. There was that voice in the back of his mind screaming at him to run away, turn away and never look back - don’t let this man get to you-- but he knows better by now. No matter how hard he’ll try, so long as they’re in the same vicinity, it was bound to happen eventually.
It would be better if he got it over with sooner than later, would it not? With a heavy sigh, Mike pulls his head off to the side and breaks eye contact with the man he had once considered his father, and crosses his arms. He gives his arms a light rub, his heart ever so slightly pounding against his chest as he attempts to speak up and say something, anything.
But the words don’t come out. They can’t.
ok I'm gonna watch the pushing daisies series finale now
wish me luck (and mail me tissues)
