first five from the writer asks?
1. What is the crackiest* thing you’ve ever written? (*I mean this with great affection)
I think the closest i've come is There'll Be No Victims Of To Speak from when i'd just started posting to AO3, but it's still not really crack. More just irreverent. Unfortunately, anything that could actually qualify probably lives and dies exclusively in Discord DMs or from when i was far too young and insecure to be posting my stories online, so i wouldn't be able to dig up any specific examples to tell ya 😔
2. Has writing a fic ever changed your opinion of a character?
Nope, i am always right about everything the first time forever and in perpetuity ^_^
3. Tell us about a headcanon you invented for a fic
I'm struggling to think of a headcanon i've invented for a fic tbh. Normally, it goes the other way around.
I do still want to give you something for this though, and i feel like writing out a new incantation for a resurrection spell ought to be close enough to the spirit of this question. Here is a probably terrible Latin translation i conjured for a WIP BG3 fic featuring a friend's Tav:
Non licet mori ut, inepta bille.
Now i don't actually know Latin and probably used primarily Google Translate for most of this (I started this in at least Sept. 2025 before i got distracted after needing to double check something against a clip, so i can't recall with perfect certainty what it's supposed to say. ADHD is such a project killer, I tell ya 😫), but without looking anything up and going by the roots i think i recognize, i think the first part says "You aren not allowed to die yet".
The second part of the translation is more complicated. I wanted it to be "silly billy" because the spellcaster Tav in question is a very goofy and airheaded fella who would absolutely say that shit, but the problem is that silly billy is a very difficult phrase to translate. I didn't want to just say "goofball billy goat", so i accepted the translation i found most frequently for silly and decided to treat billy as a name (which is apparently closer to the true etymology than billy goat anyway? the more you know). I lazily Latinized the name as Billus and went straight to work kicking it into vocative shape. And thus inepta bille was born.
The effort i put into this translation is what made me finally understand vocative case btw. Thank you, silly billies of the world.
4. Have you ever written a fic inspired by a tumblr post?
I definitely have. Just yesterday, i read a post that's making me redo from scratch a fic i've been working on because i realized there's a much better angle to attack the AU from. I'm going to try to still put a bow on the 5000 words i've already written as their own thing, but it won't be the longfic i originally planned.
And that's not even looking at the definite majority of my fics being prompted by either various fandom events hosted on Tumblr or other ask games. I was going to find whatever's my most recent example with a hyperlinked post in the notes to link here, but honestly, it's just easier to say most of them lol.
5. How do you know when you’re finished writing a fic? At what point do you call it done?
A fic is done after i feel like all the major scenes flow together without any awkward gaps, and i've done a few read-throughs for character voice, grammar, and (if i'm feeling fancy) thematic cohesion
