Day 46 of Commentaries or Devotionals on the Words of Jesus from the Book of Matthew By Pastor James Moore, Jr. Devotional: “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” ~Matthew 8:23-27 #Matthew8 At various times in our lives, there will, out of nowhere appear intense storms. These sudden disturbances can cause great distress and bring us to the place of great fear because of the unstable conditions, and our inability to be prepared for them. That is why it is so very important for every believer, when we are experiencing calmness, to use that time to prepare by saturating ourselves in the study God’s Word, in prayer and meditating on His Word. It is a time where we need to fellowship with other believers so that we can encourage and edify one another. We must know, just as Jesus, who was asleep in the back of the boat, has the ability to hush the storm instantaneously. He also has the ability to help us to endure even if He chooses not to quiet it. We must be confident and know that our Deliverer has power over the natural disasters as well as spiritual disasters that arise out of nowhere. Let us keep drawing near to Him, He will draw near to us. #Matthew8 #ServingJesusChrist #OhYouOfLittleFaith #HeRebukedTheWind https://www.instagram.com/p/B2JqEhjFsxl/?igshid=20z48a0a5had
