Summary:

Dick's injured one night on patrol, which is no big deal. Sure, his face is a little burnt, but it's not like anything serious happened-- so why is everyone acting like it has? Faced with a concussion and mandatory rest, he has a lot of time to think, and that's never good for someone in their line of business.

OR: An injury threatens to scar Dick's face, and it brings up a lot of things in him, things he hadn't realized were even there. The Batfamily acts and reacts.

My Take:

This is one of my favorite series. It really heavily deals with consent, and frankly, Dick's lack of consent. It approaches it in such an interesting and heart-wrenching way that I go through a range of emotions every time I read it.

Genuinely, it's a beautiful piece, and I love it a lot.

Saving Nightwing ... Again ...

Jason Todd just wanted sleep. He never bargained for traveling to Bludhaven, dealing with Dick's boss, OR becoming a coffee zombie. It just kinda happened. Or... Dick goes missing and Jason is the only one available to pull his sorry butt out of the fire and save him from being auctioned off to the highest bidding criminal. Chaos ensues, Dick gets whumped, Jason has to take care of him... and the Red Hood proves that despite the odds, he's always willing to go above and beyond for his idiotic trouble magnet of a brother.

(Dick WHUMP) (Jason's a good little Brother)(Everyone needs a hug).

My Take:

I didn't know I needed an Amy Jason team up until this story, and now I feel like there isn't enough of it. If you find more of these two teaming up, send it to me.

This fic has created a need within me.

All I can do in the meantime is feel grateful that I managed to find this fanfiction. Just wow. I reread this one a lot. It's a fun piece with a lot of emotional highs and good twists without being a full novel.

The tone is also just great. Not too heavy, not too light. Very well written.

Genuinely, I adore this piece.

Dick had the sort of scent that made people take notice. When we walked by even betas would stare. He was beautiful too. Like on another level gorgeous. The man possessed the sort of features that the rich paid millions to try to emulate. His sparkling sapphire blue eyes were framed by thick, curling eyelashes. His cheekbones and jaw were sharp and chiseled, his lips full and soft. He possessed a lean, perfectly muscled physique that screamed elegance and perfection. And of course, on top of everything else, he was kind and smart and had a wicked sense of humour.

People flocked to him. Everyone wanted to be in Dick Grayson's world.

Jason fucking hated him.

My Take:

An A/B/O fic that's super interesting. The pairing is Jason Todd/Dick Grayson, and I'm here for it.

This may be triggering for sexual assault or abusive relationships. Personally, I think the author did a great job keeping it from biting at your soul, but everyone is different.

Luthor has a questionable obsession with one Dick Grayson, and I keep checking back to see if this author has updated. All the time. It never ends.

Luckily, the author actually updated today when I decided to add it to the blog. I hope the next time I check back something similar happens.

All that is to say that I'm obsessed enough that all I can think about is more.

Dick's brain really hates him, trauma has a way of catching up to you, and his heart is set on the one person he can never have. Fucking flowers indeed.

My Take:

This is a JayDick story that is truly beautiful.

Out of all the Hanahaki stories, this one is the one that really got to me. Everyone is fairly in character, the storyline is very similar to cannon, and it really explores the relationships between the characters well.

It is focused on Grayson, so you'll see less of Jason, but it really works for this piece.

From the Slade scene to the voicemails to Tim, I would recommend every single piece of this story. Truly, I love this one.

Summary:

Dick Grayson Week 2021: Day 5 - Bruce Hits Dick & Doesn't Get Away With It

The slap resounds throughout the whole cave. The bats fly off, disturbed, chittering. Tim drops his mug.

The crash of the mug does little to disturb Bruce, whose eyes flicker to where Tim is, on the opposite side of the cave, analysing a blood splatter pattern for a recent case, before surveying Dick, who is panting, head turned away from the slap. Tim can just make out the red outline of a handprint on his face.

My Take:

Glorious. I wish there were more to this piece, honestly. This writer created a great narrative that I found really compelling. They just really got me in the feels and made me wish there were more.

Also I just want the siblings to get on the same page - Batman shouldn't be hitting any of them.

It's a wish-fulfillment piece through and through.

My Take:

A really angsty turned sweet story about the Bat Fam realizing that Dick is hurting and actually doing something about it.

I love it more than I can say.

My Take:

A genuinely funny and very enjoyable piece. I just adore the tax jokes . . . among other things.
