the problem is that sometimes im a genius but it’s entirely conditional and it might as well happen at the full moon because its the same thing. i am a machine and i will chug out what is put in and the cartoon i am thinking about will dictate how the drawings look REGARDLESS of how much i even like the stylization. even if i think something looks bad i try and make it look like it anyway. It’s torture
#i have to have some kind of reference point because if i dont have an instruction manual of sorts then i dont know what to do with myself#heres an example#when i was basing drawings off of early seasons regular show i made stuff that i think is REALLY GOOD because its a reflection#of what was put in#but when i was drawing miss blu ray and shit i was referencing season 8 and my drawings came out a lot stiffer#not 100% of the time but as a trend#i remember thinking. WOW i think this looks so boring. im gonna copy it regardless#its not completely linear though because like. i think chowder looks REALLY GOOD but i struggle a lot with drawing it#something about it clashes with how i draw theres like an entire mental block#but im saying as a trend. i usually dont like to do things that are completely original because i cant think of anything and theres#nothing that really means anything to me that i can build off of. but if im looking at some specific thing its like OH#I KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE#its why i would much rather storyboard for an existing thing than make my own show. like i dont really feel like doing that its not my thing
