What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? toss up between stillness in woe and black eyes, you won't be dreaming tonight for two different reasons. for the former, i'm genuinely proud of it because writing 106k words in about 12 days is a monumental feat, and though it may have burnt me out, i think i am still very proud of being able to do that! for the latter... i don't know. i think it has some of my best prose ever. i hit the nail over the heat with the eerie eldritch vibes, and i'm not sure i'm gonna get close to that ever again.

10. What work was the quickest to write? most of the ficlets tbh! i think pretty much anything on ardentarchivist was a quick write, especially the stuff i wrote during fic off. i'm a pretty fast writer by nature, especially when i get into the zone, so yeah. most of those take maybe an hour tops?

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you? glaciers. this isn't even a question lmao it's just a fact.

oh and i suppose i am also taking as blue as blood before the blood goes red into the new year too; chapter 2 is a wip, but hopefully i will get it done in 2026! (and i am also taking everything you never wanted; hopefully i can write chapter 2 in 2026... but that one is more of a slower passion project so i'm not in as much of a rush for it.)

28. Favorite work you wrote this year? black eyes, you won't be dreaming tonight, hands down. just the perfect blend of beautifully eerie, eldritch vibes, written in my beloved and underrated second-person POV.

runners-up: -> as my last chance to feel human begins to vaporize — i love the format fuckery i did with this one. so much fun -> you can have anything that you want from me — bad end, bad end! which i've never actually written all that much, so this was a DELIGHT, especially with the ear mutilation, whew. fucked up! -> everything you never wanted — only one chapter, but GOD, it was an amazing chapter. how the hell am i supposed to follow up on that? @ past me, you cooked.

your treat here is c1 e88: faithless, minute 62, which turns into moonshine and akarot fighting about whose head or ass should go into the box (the box that ate apple’s arm). and whether or not akarot lost some ass shitting in the box. hardwon had made attacks that eventually get their amounts revealed, a 15, a 19, and a 30. the last two hit.

you are coming for my ass with these questions. i had to think SO hard

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

therapy, maybe? nah, i kid, i love my beautiful cursed wife. OUR beautiful cursed wife. anyway, bit of a curveball, and maybe slightly niche, but i'm approaching this qn from the angle of "what other media does it feel like she would thrive in?" and to that… honestly? va-11 hall-a, beloved little indie game of mine. it's cyberpunk, there are robots— i could easily see her doing good there as a tinkerer, inventor, mechanic of sorts. also there's alcohol and plenty of societal problems so tragic stuff can still happen and she can show up at a bar and drink her problems away.

the more self indulgent answer is that i want to throw her into fire emblem and watch her blow people up with a magic gun or something, BUT i'm trying to think here. i'm trying to be reasonable. what would FIT her.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

i'm actually not a very headcanon-oriented person! i usually just fling myself into aus and scenarios instead of committing to a set of headcanons, but i'll try anyway.

the only thing that i've got is that marya built kočka's mech in the spirit of wanting to preserve the only thing of ludmila she had left, while also keeping him with her. but in my deranged yuri heart that's basically canon, so. who knows?

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

god. marya and torse. i mainly think about the scene where she engraved his iron heart and then brought him back, and the very sweet moment they had (before The Moment that made me crazy hit like a truck). i think there's just so much damn potential there for a relationship between an automaton and an artificer, and it's something i kind of want to explore more? since we're getting torse back next week, i hope to get more crumbs of this relationship!!

28. If you could have this character meet another in another media, who would you have them meet?

actually maybe i will make her meet lucas mother 3. they're shaking hands in solidarity of having a loved one get mechanised and transformed (and controlled by another person, because i do firmly believe the corrodi primarch is behind ludmila getting as fucked up as she is!!) somehow while they thought said loved one was dead. jesus christ i'm only now realising some of the parallels with mother 3. niche vision for an audience of one (me)

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

marmila. i just. my tragic toxic doomed yuri. they have infested my brain ever since the ending of episode 14 and it has just gotten worse and worse and worse. there is a scale of how absolutely feral i go over a ship, from 1 to 10; most ships cap at a 9 (torsewell is around there rn), but marmila shot straight to a 10. literally load bearing yuri. i think my mental health has actually IMPROVED since clinging to them (and also bc i've been able to yap w you endlessly about them so Thank You So Much)

but like. god. i love tragedies, and i love devotion. and there is something so absolutely heartwrenchingly painful about marya and ludmila's entire story and their fate that just plucks at all the right strings for me. ludmila waited for her for years and years and years until her heart broke. marya grieved ludmila, everything about her absolutely shattering as soon as that photograph was revealed. there are fucking tear stains on ludmila's face. marya in all of episode 15. the beloved of it all. the "mila." just kill me. it'd be so much fucking easier to just kill me.

and it's the fact that this was always going to happen because ludmila's entire existence is now caught up in an impenetrable time loop — straka will always come for her, and she will always create and send straka back — that makes it all the more heartbreaking because there is no easy happy ending for them, if there even is one. and beyond the grief and anger, there is the love fuelling all of it — and that, i fucking love to explore,
