Norsery Rhymes from A to Z Happy Thorsday - Billingr and Billinger Twin Hermaphrodites Well here we are another Thor’s Day and another 20 min sketch of a Norse (and Germanic) mythological characters. This week it’s Billingr and Billinger (or Just Billingr collectivly) the Dwarven (Dverg / Dvergr / Dwarf). Children of Durinn. Thier name translates to Twins and Hermaphrodites. They are described as sons of Durinn and brothers as well. Meaning the Hermaphroditic description could be one strictly of appearance. That they were feminine looking for male dwarves. Or even that as dwarves one was male and the other female. But that’s all just possible interpretations as not much else other than their names and kin are known.
