may gracious lord Hermes, always helpful and kind, guide him to the land of the dead, leading his soul beneath the earth. i call and praise you, guide of souls, and ask you to come to his aid, and hear our prayers.

κλυθί μοι, Ἑρμῆ

Salve, Hermes, never static god.

Gracious guide, beloved, giver of good,

may you prepare me for a journey,

for I miss feeling you in the excitement of traveling,

as you run by my side, leading me to my destination.

Glorious, splendid, ready-helper,

may you favor me, Lord of searchers,

and allow me to soon once more partake in your blessings.

I am thankful for all you've done for me in the past,

and I praise you as I ask you to receive my prayers and fulfill my wish.
