Fresh fruits from my trip, where they should be
"Because wisdom was considered divine, many philosophers were associated with the gods themselves, who in one way or another were thought to have granted them access to their superhuman wisdom. This is the case, for instance, with Pythagoras. He presented himself as a descendant of Apollo and Hermes, and claimed that he had learned a great deal of knowledge from these deities, including one of their most astounding and unique lessons: that the soul is immortal, and after the death of the body it transmigrates to other beings."

MY HERMES STATUE BROKE
Digital offering for Lord Hermes 🍀
I don't have many ressources to deal with my unfocused stressed out brain and right now this bitch is killing me ngl. I have 9 cover letters to write to be able to participate in the competitive exams to get my tenure as a lab archivist. The worse is that I think most people now use AI to write those letters, which I strongly refuse to do. So I guess my brain will have to kill me for more days from now to get through all of that.
I think of praying Hermes sometimes, He seems fit to deal with focus and anxiety, ...
I have never felt that I've had a set "home". I've had a house; I've had a roof over my head that kept me safe in the night. However, I don't feel that I've ever had a "home".
My perspective only shifted when the God of Travel forced my hand, slowly and surely, by exposing me to all that the world had to offer. Life became less serious; it became more joyful.
I've learned to find a home in the smile on a stranger's face, the odd comments I overhear from passersby, and the wonderfully timed helping hand from a local. I've learned to find a home in the stars overhead, the distant backdrop of a landscape, and the native species who reside in the wild. I've learned to find a home in silly online communities, late-night Dungeons & Dragons gatherings, and hour long phone calls with friends.
"Home" can be just as much an experience as it is a place. Blessed is the name Hermes. 🧡
Updates, just in case
What's up, so I went to one of Troy Doherty's concerts on Friday and I had a great time! I also went to Troy's meet and greet before the concert, and I took a selfie with him and my Hermes statue!
I decided to just give the Hermes statue to Troy, because everyone kept asking if it was a gift and I was like "huh, I don't know--if he asks for it, he can have it." And once I was up there, he asked if he could keep it, and I did not have the heart to say "actually it's not for YOU, I just wanted a selfie with two versions of Hermes."
Besides, the statues are like $10, and I ordered a new one yesterday.
Halfway through the concert, my anxious ass remembered that HERMES IS A TRICKSTER and I just gave his statue to someone on a concert tour who needs to TRAVEL and COMMUNICATE, and now I'm panicking about these two crashing together.
So after I got home, Dionysus was just affectionately laughing at me, and he brought Hermes over to tell me himself, "Girl, you're wayyyyyyy too upset about giving someone a fucking gift. I do not have any plans to screw over one of my own actors. Besides, if something does happen like you keep worrying, WHAT IF I HELP HIM OUT OF IT?"
Hermes in general is a pretty chill deity, but I'm logging this in case UNEXPECTED SHIT happens.
