Ok so dont get me wrong i enjoy when mcyt ship/duo names are more than just the two peoples names smashed together. Like shiny duo? Sure. Hellfire? Great. Hotdawg? Amazing. Treebark? Literally perfect. But like it gets to a point where there is NO logical way to decipher who the ship name is for without just looking it up.
Redscape is crazy because it legit took me so long to figure out what it even meant. I assume scape = scar because of the whole landscaping your mind thing and red = mumbo because yknow... redstone. But theoretically like that could be anyone who terraforms and any redstoner if you squint. Ethubs is redscape. Rendoc is redscape. Pearltho is Redscape. Grumbo is also redscape. You could call them scumbo!!! jumbotimes!!! mumscar!!!
Same thing with shortgrass. I still don't fully understand it if I'm being honest. I assumed the short was for bdubs and the grass was for joel,, but joel isn't really associated with grass? So maybe bdubs is grass because of the whole moss thing and joel is the short because he's "smallish" beans. But that doesn't really seen right either. Are they both the short? Are they both the grass? Who knows. I sure wouldn't if i heard the name out of context. But they have so many good alternatives!!! Smalldubs, beandubs, beandoubleo, ect.
Another one I've seen recently is snowbugs for scott and tango. I somewhat understand snow for scott since that was his thing in empires s1 (I'm not really a fan of using a concept from one season of something that doesn't apply anywhere else + snow could also refer to so many other people but it could be worse) i assume bugs is for like... bugs in games/redstone? But that has the same problem as "red" for anything having to do with mumbo because bugs could apply to so many people. It might also be because sometimes people draw tango with extra arms like a bug? But again that could apply to so many people. Consider: majortek! tangscott! scotttek! Also if you're going with the snow thing anyway you could've called them snowflames or something and that wouldn't be so bad!
I've also seen redcreak for mumbo and bigb and while this is better than the other ones, "red" has the already mentioned problem that it's too broad, and "creak" has the same problem as "snow" for scott in that it only applies to one season. My main issue is that the alternative name is so obvious!!! CALL THEM BIGJUMBO!!! maybe even jumbostatz if you're feeling adventurous
Also I invented a rarepair name just now. It is called cocoabeans. It is bigb and joel (Because bigb has always been associated with cookies and also joel is beans.) I am also excepting bigsmall or smallishstatz.
