It was hard even for him to complain about this one. His basic needs covered? A place to stay with a room? Even food and money, both to some degree included. But it should be fair that not everything would be to his liking, or that maybe some things weren’t exactly double checked before he arrived. But it was fine, nothing that a trip to the store couldn’t fixed.

The man’s basket had a handful things. Some home improvement, others just food. The last thing he needed though were some batteries, as a lap around the place would eventually reveal where they’re kept. While the shelf had many to show, there was a section blocked off by someone he couldn’t see past. So what does he do? Well, first a tap on the shoulder since they weren’t looking before asking as nicely as he could to move.

     If anything, Akira is curious.

     It’s like the island from before, from when he was first here, where everything began in a sense. So more than likely, there’s some answers that are bound to be found here. And he’s not about to let the chance for answers slip away from him. He needs them, for his own sake, and everyone else’s as well.

     So that’s what leads him to running through the research center, phantom thief attire and all, a feeling of deja vu falling over him. He probably doesn’t need this but honestly he feels more comfortable like this, and that Arsene is by his side if he needs him. Better safe than sorry after all.

     He stops only to catch his breath, and to calm himself down a bit. He doesn’t need to rush but at the same time he feels like he needs to. That something is going to go wrong if he doesn’t. That it’ll be like before with the island. He doesn’t know why he feels like that, but he does for whatever reason.

     ...Or maybe it’s because things will go wrong, but not for the reasons he thinks.

     He looks around from where he stands only for grey eyes to widen behind his mask at what he sees. Why is Futaba here, he can only think, considering what her abilities are as a thief. Akira doesn’t know what to do, especially considering his appearance, but he can’t just run from her so...

     So the only thing he can do is sigh, look at her and bite the bullet. “Futaba? Why are you here...?” She’ll probably have a lot of questions for him but honestly, it would’ve happened sooner or later he thinks.

“So, like...I dunno if you celebrate the holidays or anything like that, but I thought it’d be kinda, I guess, sad if you didn’t get anything, y’know?” Rough, Futaba, you’re going to offend someone one day. “S-So here you go. Erm, I hope you like it...?” Small parcel is presented: a set of gloves better suited for the cold weather, and some nice parchment paper for her typewriter.

  It was slight, and it was something that could easily be lost if you were to blink, but hints of a gentle smile could be found on Violet’s usual taciturn face. She rarely wanted much for material possessions, so in turn, it was rare for her to receive gifts. Futaba didn’t even know her for long, and yet she was still thoughtful enough to go out of her way to get Violet presents that she would actually use.

    “Thank you very much. You are very kind, Miss Futaba.” She hoped that she sounded as grateful as she felt. However, the corners of her mouth fall a little as she paused for a moment. “…I must apologize though. I don’t celebrate any holidays similar to this where I am from, so I did not prepare a present beforehand.”

  Now that she thought about it… did she still have time to spend those tickets?

Attempting the same task over and over to no avail.

Touya wasn’t much of an avid reader, or even avid manga reader for that matter, yet boredom lead him to sitting in the library to read a random volume he pulled off the shelf. In hindsight, if he were going to read a series, perhaps it would have been best to grab the first volume and not the last, even if it was only a short series.

Eventually, he stands up, walking back over to the shelf to put the book back in it’s place. Bored with one series, he decides to read another, yet just as he grabs another volume, he looks through the shelf. Past the shelf he was standing at, he could see someone trying to reach a book on a higher shelf. Judging from a few annoyed mutters and grumbles, it sounded like she was having trouble reaching it. Grabbing a random volume from the shelf he was standing at, he walks over to the other shelf.

“Need any help? I could probably reach it.”

It’s hard enough getting her out of the house sometimes, you’d be asking too much from her to really expect to see her giving a gift. So package is left on his doorstep, a couple of recently released multiplayer games inside, lone note to accompany it: You seem like the type that likes games, so enjoy? HMU if you need some tips :) ...It’s probably a good thing you can guess who this is from, since she’s forgotten to sign her name, whoops.

     Coming back to see a package left on his doorstep is…surprising to say the least. After all as far as Akira knew neither him or the detective were expecting anything so it’s not something he was expecting. Still, he takes it inside with him, opening it up once he gets back to his room.

     What greets him are a couple of recently released multiplayer games, along with a lone note. A name isn’t left signed on the note, but Akira can think of one person that would do this. After all, she hasn’t changed that much from what he remembers about her.

     It’s touching that she would do this, especially considering Futaba doesn’t remember who he is. Maybe she feels comfortable enough about him to do so? Who knows what her reasoning for doing this is, but Akira’s glad for it regardless.

     …He’ll have to thank her when he sees her again. Maybe they can play one of these games together, like before.

      The first thing that would greet Futaba once she would step into the living room would be the sudden appearance of a girl she has never seen before, quietly gazing at the picture frames hanging up on the wall. 

     Well, at least until she noticed her presence from the corner of her eye. Though the only reaction in response was one blink, then two - before she then sets her suitcase down on the floor. “Pleased to make your acquaintance.” Gripping the fabric of her dress with both her hands and crossing her legs, her body automatically lowered into a curtsy out of habit. “I am Violet Evergarden.” And with that, she stood back up into the same ramrod straight posture and seemingly constant blank expression on her face. “Am I correct to assume that you are Miss Futaba Sakura?”
