I love your writing! I have a question: How do you cope with writer's block? I struggled with writing for almost 2.5 years until I got into the 5SOS fandom and my creative juices were re-lived.
Oof, writer's block is so brutal! Tbh I feel like I struggle with it more often than not, like it usually takes me a while to get going on any given project. (A total 180 from when I first started writing and was able to jump from one idea into the next with ease.)
For me, the simplest solution is always the hardest: taking a break! The more you try and fight the block, the stronger it seems to become but if you accept that you're struggling, it lets you off the hook a little bit, lessens the pressure and allows you to start employing tactics that will hopefully help you find your footing again.
Once I've accepted that I'm in a bit of a holding pattern, I start seeing inspiration everywhere - conversations with friends, daydreams, content - and though it may seem counterintuitive, it's actually fun and quite liberating to brainstorm without feeling obligated to follow thru on each idea I have. Eventually (I've had it be anywhere from a week to a few months), an idea will present itself that is so fully formed and undeniably The One that it's almost like you have no choice but to write it. It's not necessarily about the time it takes to get to that point, it's more about allowing yourself that space to rest and recharge your brain and let yourself get re-excited about the process.
