Icy Mountains
You put your coat over your head as you looked around the icy mountains, shivering at the feeling before you smiled. "Well... I guess i have to collect all this snow..." You muttered as you grabbed your shovel.
At least your new ghast seemed to be having the time of its life... Smiling as you watched it play and bury itself in the snow.
Gathering all the snow you could before you paused, looking around... The weight of uneasy eyes making your movements feel exposed. Goosebumps rosing along your arms... Not from the cold...
But from the quiet knowledge that you were no longer alone.
Your breath hitched, heart pounding as you had been caught in the spotlight, stripped bare beneath an unseen stare.
"Come on." You muttered as you grabbed your baby ghast, picking it up as you walked deeper into the snowy mountains.
You hated how often times you felt watched... But you chalked it up to a zombie or skeleton.
But wouldn't you have been attacked by now?
It was probably an enderman...
Deep in thought before a snowball made contact with your face.
"What the hell?" You asked yourself before a pale hand reached down to you.
"You should be more aware of your surroundings you know." Alex said with a smirk on her face.
"Alex!" You said happily as you grabbed her hand and pulled her down, the two of you just laughing.
"Uh... Whatcha got there?" Alex asked curiously as she looked at the ghast.
"Huh? Oh! A friend!" You said happily as her eyes widened. "Woah! A baby ghast!" She said happily as she eyed it.
"Yeah! I found it almost dead and I brought it back! Look how happy it is!" You said happily as Alex fawned over it. "That's so cute! I want one!" She squealed.
Despite how cool, tough, and muscular she seemed... She was still just a girl.
"I found it in the soul sand valley!" You said as you fed it some snowballs.
"I'm definitely checking there next time I go the nether." Alex replied before she thought for a moment. "Why don't you come to my camp... It's gonna get dark." She said as you nodded.
Following her in silence before you paused and smiled. "Good to know it was just you that was just watching me... I thought I was losing my mind." You said happily.
"Uh... Oh yeah. I think." Alex said in confusion as she furrowed her brow.
Ending up to camp as you sat down by the fire Alex started and hummed quietly as your baby ghast hid in the snow. "It's so odd...." Alex muttered.
"How so?" You asked as you bit into a piece of chicken.
"I always thought that ghasts were always so sad looking you know? I thought that was just how they looked..." Alex muttered softly as you paused, thinking to yourself.
"Maybe it depends on their environment?" You suggested as she nodded her head in agreement. "Oh! Wait! Let me tell you about the dream I had!" You said.
Alex listened to your dream intently, she didn't have the same look as Steve... But then again you trusted her enough to tell her the part where the strange man kissed you.
"Okay..." Alex muttered. "Was he hot?" She asked as your eyes widened.
"Alex!" You said as you hit her arm as she laughed.
"What!? I'm just asking!" She said with a smile on her face. "Maybe you just need a boyfriend or something." She teased as she poked your reddened cheeks.
"Yeah right... As far we know it's just you, me, and Steve." You said as Alex snickered.
"Haven't you considered a villager?" She asked as you paused, you truly hadn't... It wouldn't be so bad... I mean you did have a little crush on the blacksmith...
"I guess I haven't..." You muttered softly as Alex laughed and bit into her chicken.
"It's not so bad... Sometimes if they like you enough, they'll give you emeralds." She said in between chews as you ate your own chicken.
"I'm always lacking in that department..." You muttered as the baby ghast on your head cooed and snuggled into your hair. "Would be nice to date a villager! They are really nice! Hey maybe one day I'll have a kid with one." You teased as Alex laughed before choking.
"Haha very funny." The red head said with a smile before she sighed. "We should sleep, the mobs are horrendous at night in the snowy mountains.
As the two of you drifted off to sleep, he watched. He approached your wool sleeping back and kneeled down as he tilted his head.
His bone white eyes almost glowing as his hand brushed against your face, pushing your hair away as he paused. He couldn't... Not now, he couldn't take you just yet.
He had to deal with those two idiots... Alex... And Steve... Especially Steve.
"You worry to much..." He muttered to you quietly before he smirked. "You should."
~~~~~~
Alex was already awake when you woke up, the baby ghast snuggles into the snow with soft coos.
"Mornin' sleepyhead!" She said as she smiled at you and picked up her supplies. "Wanna go mining?" She asked as she swung diamond pickaxe over her shoulder.
"I didn't pack a pickaxe..." You muttered with a pout as she laughed.
"I always carry a spare iron one!" She said as she tossed it to you, just laughing as you caught it with a soft 'oof'.
As the two of you looked for a good mine, you hummed softly and looked around.
"So... You decide on a name for your friend yet?" Alex asked as she smiled.
"Not yet... I do want to find a nametag though! So I hope there's a couple spawners!" You said happily as you made sure your ghast was in your backpack.
"Well... You can think during the mine." Alex said as she shoved you into a cave opening.
As the two of you mined on, smelted, crafted, walked, avoided mobs. You mingled, gossiped.
You forgot how much you enjoyed girl talk with Alex.
"Alexxx!" You said happily. "Look! A lush cave!" You said as you rushed over, fussing over the axolotls. "They're so cute!" You squealed as Alex just watched you with a smile.
'Just like you...' She thought as she tilted her head before she handed you a bucket.
You took the bucket with a smile and scooped up the cute pink axolotl. "So cute..." You whispered as you placed it in your backpack. "I think I see some diamonds ahead!" You said as you walked to them.
"[Name] wait!" Alex said as she went to grab your hand.
But it was to late.
You fell off a ledge.
