"forever and a day," she said with a nod, a soft laugh escaping her lips. they were out of diapers when jade had moved into the neighborhood and their parents forced them together because they were close enough in age, but just barely. it felt so easy back then, and to be honest even entering adulthood had been a breeze for them. he was her constant, and now she was entering a phase of her life when he wouldn't be a walking distance from her apartment. the thought was paralyzing.
and while she appreciates his attempts at joking to diffuse the situation, she can't help but feel resentment beginning to build. yes, they were both moving, but she was a train ride away. he was leaving-leaving; it didn't feel fair. how could he leave their home like it was nothing? how could he leave her?
pushing down her feelings — a common occurrence lately — she put back on her smile and tried to look as hopeful as he sounded. "we should walk around later," she offered. "like we used to. you never know, when we leave everything might change. we need to ... we need to commit it all to memory. really see it all, y'know?"
@heroesdeath said | "that's... one way of looking at it." (for Kaylee from Aidan)
Kaylee paused and cocked her head to the side, the sweet smile on her adorable face remain unfazed until the man looked away and she shot Sophie a look. He was being polite but there was a touch of pedantry to his words. Kaylee didn't like pedantry. She was use to it. The idea that just because she was Tony Stark's daughter that she was a privilege little girl with no understanding of how things worked. It was insulting.
But true to the lessons her father taught her, Kaylee remained calm under pressure. That flame from her mother burned brightly behind blue eyes but other than that, she took the shot he made intentionally or not with grace.
"How would you look at it?" she asked lightly, a genuine curiosity helped mask any ill will she felt at his comment. "Systems are made to be broken, tested, to see what works and what doesn't. Society may have it's faults but they are them and we are us. How else do you change and grow and do better than the generation before you if you aren't pushing the boundaries? No one is an island, it doesn't matter how introverted or rebellious or what have you someone is, they still need connection and people."
You're such a tease -Gabriel

Name one idea for a plot you’ve had but never gotten around to writing.
Are there any songs that remind you of your muse and/or get you into the mood to reply?
Easy Meme for a Burnt Out Mun
Okay, but Amanda's never actually held a real job before, so I was thinking maybe Gabriel should hire her as his assistant or something like that. I know you shouldn't always trust the internet, but it says that an assistant can assist in a stakeout, so that might be fun for them to stay up all night together in a cramped car or wherever. Maybe. I don't know.
Hm, much like the plot ideas, there's so many songs, too. Ella Langley's Girl Who Drank Wine is definitely about Amanda and Weston during the early days, and Ty Herndon and LeAnn Rimes' What Mattered Most is so much of their story, too. Then, there's Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton's We Don't Fight Anymore, Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson's Never Say Never, Luke Bryan's Little Less Broken, Josh Ross' Hate How You Look, Carly Pearce and Riley Green's If I Don't Leave, I'm Gonna Stay, etc. Yay for country music lol.
“ hey, stranger! it’s been a minute, huh? what’ve you been up to? how have you been? hell, where have you been? “ (from Gabriel bc you asked for it with your last rb)
A smile formed on his lips at the sight of Gabriel as his mind drifted for a few seconds, trying to remember when was the last time he had actually seen the older man. Hell, he didn’t even remember the last time he even texted the other. “Gabi, hi! Seems like ages to me,” he chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. Wow, he really was bad at keeping in touch. “I wish I had something cool to say to you, but I’ve just been super busy with the shop that barely had any time to go out. I’m really that boring.” There was a shake of his head at his own words, feeling both embarrassed at himself and terrible for his lack of social skills. “How about you? I bet you do have something more exciting to share.”

"You have an amazing boy. He's improving really quick, I guess it's natural talent." (Nick)
Greer grins at the coach's compliment: she can't help it, really -- any good word about her son is one she takes to heart. It's been tough, learning how to be a mom is a mission on its own. It's been even tougher without Hank here to help her.
"He's got his mother's genes, that's for sure. I really can't thank you enough for taking him on, Nick -- not a lotta clubs were willing to put a super-abled kid on their team."
