Imagine if there was a really weird misunderstanding and the blackthorns thought that kit loved LIVVY, and thats why he left. Like theres no chance of this ever happening but think about julian gravely calling kit and ty to a 'family meeting', because they had found out "the big secret," and them paling, thinking that the family knew about the necromancy. Then just imagine the elder blackthorns proclaiming proudly that they knew kit loved livvy. They're hugging him one by one, whispering comforts, saying they understand, etc, etc, while kit's just there looking bewildered, staring at ty, whose ears have gone red. Above them, livvy's ghost is barreling across the room, laughing hysterically.

PS: Dru is in the corner choking on unshed laughter (shes too smart for this)

The figures in the marble arch in the new Kitty art are so interesting because they obviously represent them (herons; lynxes; crown of thorns etc) but the fact Kit has wings and Ty does not poses an interesting question… like it’s clearly intentional but unclear to what end.

From what I’ve seen so far people have mainly framing this as “why does Kit have wings” and then proceeding to answer that question, but I will like to propose the idea it might be the opposite, and that Ty not having angel wings in his representation is what is unusual. In @misssherondale’s analysis of the art, she makes the connection to Roman & Greek arches, and how angels appearing in the corners of arches is a common convention. I looked at Roman arches online, and after a few minutes of searching I couldn’t found one that had figures in the corners of the arch that were not angels (although many had no carvings at all). While not an arch, this doorway is obviously heavily inspired by classical architecture and the designs are clearly connected as well. Kit and Ty are also both Shadowhunters, people who are regularly identified with angels. By all accounts, both figures in the art should be depicted with angel wings… but Ty isn’t. That’s the anomaly.

When the question is “was doesn’t Ty have wings”, I think the answer is fairly straightforward — angels without wings are fallen angels. Ty is, through Lucie and Tessa, a descendant of Belial, one of the seven angels who fell alongside Lucifer. We already know Lucifer and his lieutenants will be important in TWP and if this is the intended symbolism, then that also suggests Ty’s (therefore his family’s) connection to Belial will specifically be relevant. (Perhaps relevantly, Livvy’s endpaper also prominently features an angel, although I don’t think we can really surmise what the meaning of the art is without the scene it’s based on)

After checking the TLKoF page, this snippet wouldn’t leave my mind, especially the highlighted part and now I NEED to read the rest of this scene, cause the last line (“But that was only part of him”) makes me think that the rest of this scene depicts how the OTHER part of him wants to talk to him, ask him if he’s okay, get him some dry clothes and warm him up. And that is going to break me 🫠

Everyone is talking about Kit's jacket, so I am going to give my thoughts on it ;)

1. I would totally die if (and I hope it happens) the jacket is something Kit really values, everyone knows it and then he takes it off and puts it into Ty's shoulders to warm him.

2. You know that boyfriend shirt people like to wear? That would be soooo cute.

3. Maybe he loses it and Ty is hurt, then Ty comments on it... And Kit says nothing is more valuable than him.

I don't know what I am doing, my brain feels like jelly.
