"What have we been thinking about lately, hmm?" She leans in close, feigning innocence, but the approach is nothing if not a threat. "Any more... brilliant ideas? Fascinating discoveries?" She doesn't care about the topic in particular, not really. This? Merely a test. She will notice her control slipping, that much she is certain of. But! To acquire a result, one must investigate first. ( - Moira )
No matter how much he tries to find comfort in her presence, there is none to be found, it seemed. And he certainly does try. Not a moment goes by in his day-to-day life at TALON does he not remind himself that Moira is his savior; from the moment he left the facility to even this very minute, he is reminded of this debt.
Aside from sitting up from where he’d been slouched over his holopad, SIGMA hardly reacts visibly to her predatory approach, allowing her to slip right beside him as she leans in to inspect what he’s doing without interference. “-- Ah, hello, Professor O’Deorain!” SIGMA greets mock-enthusiastically, swiveling in his desk chair to offer Moira his full attention in an attempt to give genuineness to his halfhearted welcome. “... As of late? Hm, not much, I am afraid! I DO find myself enraptured by an occasional thread of understanding, but a definitive answer yet remains... nebulous! Answers without questions-- questions without answers!” Research is... not the forefront of his interests-- prompting him to prattle on and on in verbal circles in an attempt to distract others from noticing just how little work has gotten done in his time spent here within TALON. Who knows what they’d do with him if they were to decide he isn’t working hard enough...
“-- If you meant at present, I am...“ What was he doing again...? In retrospect, he’d been starting to zone out while working on his-- oh! His holopad! “-- Categorizing notations!” The astrophysicist exclaims pointedly after a moment of steadily trailing off quieter and quieter, as he tried to recollect his derailing train of thought. “Interesting readings across the board! Let’s see here... Ah! The ANOMALY’S magnitude has been relatively stable-- fluctuations have significantly decreased ever since installing the capacitors in my suit! That is news!”
“I would not say I have much to be reporting on, but if you would like me to have my latest findings compiled early, then I will certainly see to that soon!“
“... How else may I be of assistance, Professor O’Deorain...?“
