I just enjoy the visual of the end of a long day, and they’re sitting either on a couch, or in bed. And they’re mostly just sitting next to each other. Until one of them decides to sidle up closer to the other, kinda playfully force the issue of an arm over the shoulders so they can just rest with each other. 

And they make sweet and playful small talk. Nick’s making dumb jokes and kissing the side of Sam’s face. 

They’re both kinda forgetting their troubles for just a little while. Just for right then.

H E  K N E W  I T   H A D  B E E N  A  C L O S E  C A L L    by more than just the massive bruise in his back. He’d seen his life flash in front of him- as cliche as that sounds- and he didn’t want it to be over. When his life has just become his own what a horrible time to duck out. But there’s Sam, coming in with the mean right hook he’d watched the vamps head tumble to the ground and he could finally breathe again. 

Now, back at the bunker, their unpacking and Dean decides to thank his brother for what he’d done. Maybe Sam hadn’t thought it was a big deal but Dean was shaken “Thanks for the assist back there. I can usually stand my ground pretty- probably these damn shoes.”

     There’s hesitance in the way he offers his hand, concern painted on his features, trying to read more into Sam’s mind with a remark like that. He’s worried, so sue him. His hands settle over Sam’s, entwining their fingers together to offer some kind of comfort. 

      “Don’t torture yourself, Sam, please.”

“Why was that hit so large” Dean coughs because he’s a cougher and grabs Sam’s drink because he ‘didn’t need one’ at the time. After he’s done sputtering he looks over at Sam and passes it over “See? None of us are Jeffery and this shit- is great. What are we gonna watch?” This was Dean’s absolute favorite. 

Hanging out with his brother. They can both relax and not have to worry about getting eaten by monsters for the foreseeable future.

tbh a lot of thoughts went through my head on how to respond, but since moving soon is gonna be my chance to totally reinvent myself and give myself more confidence--- yeah. fuck yeah, i’m cute as hell, dammit.
