So they are pledging to get a new one for this summer. If you feel like you even have a few cents to spare, please considering helping out <3 it would make the creator and participants soooo happy! Segla by Marco Battini Taken shortly after Sunrise on an early morning Hike to the top of Hesten, on the Norwegian island of Senja. This was my very first hike on the Island of Senja, and I was so impressed with the views from the cliffs I hiked it twice on the same day. At sunrise first, and again at Sunset- after a quick nap and a very good portion of fried cod at the local pub. I have a full hike report with GPS track up on my blog, with way more photos from this location and the surrounding mountains. If you want to know more about this hike, click here to read it More on: Personal Blog / Instagram / YouTube https://flic.kr/p/2ofoZFf
Nordkap - Day 47
Segla, Hesten This morning the sky was clear and after breakfast we made our way up the mountains to reach our destination for today: the Hesten. The Hesten is a mountain peak on the outer part of Senja from where you have a great view on to the Segla, a very well known and steep peak. The hike turned out to be more difficult then expected as there was still snow lying on the trail. Therefore it wasn‘t as easy to make out where you have to walk on. After around 1 1/2h we finally made it and were able to enjoy the beauty of Segla.
After a longer photo session we then sat down and ate our lunch. The way down turned out to be even more difficult because it was so slippery. We slid down half the mountain when suddenly water started entering our shoes. From here on it was quite nasty with these wet shoes. But soon we arrived back at the van. Although we were hungry we decided to leave Senja as we needed some groceries. This night we will spend the night at a big gravel parking lot out in nowhere. It seems pretty quiet here.
