“ Hestia ! ”
Alice called across the large atrium of the Ministry of Magic. She would have been surprised if the girl was able to hear her through the hustle and bustle. The crowd of people seemed particularly intense today. Alice weaved through the body of people with a few ‘excuse me’s and an occasional ‘right behind you’s before she was next to her. Ever friendly, Alice wanted to make sure to say hello to each familiar face she encountered here, even if they weren’t the closest of friends. She tapped Hestia on the shoulder, waving a little with her right hand. Both were actions that she felt a tinge of regret over after performing them. “I saw you in the crowd.” Alice supplied, “And thought I might say hello.”
Now that she was here, in the moment, she felt all the charm begin to leave her words. “And I was on my way to the Cursebreaking Department, seems like a few of these cases would fit better with you all than us.” She continued, the string of word falling from her lips almost nervously. Perhaps it was because Hestia was Frank’s friend, or because she didn’t know her as much as she’d like, but once the nerves began it was difficult to calm them. Rationally she knew that Hestia was kind, but her brain was constructing a reality where that was otherwise. Alice drew a smile to her face, motioning to the manilla folders in her hands. “Maybe we could walk together ?” She offered, so that they weren’t at this forced stand still.
Alice rocked on her heels briefly, searching for what to say next. It felt like everything she was saying was coming out wrong, but persistence was key. “ Have you been well ? I can’t remember when I last saw you.”
