"chosen one, chosen by a magic sword, "returning" to fulfil a royal and military role that's been vacant for a thousand years, unites her homeland against invaders. she's an orphan who was raised in an evil army and it makes her WEIRD (affectionate). she didn't know what vegetables were"

UGH!!! I don’t post fan art a whole lot but!!! I was overcome with the urge to draw him.... Mr. Luciano ‘Uptight’ ‘Danger’ Vargas
He’s my second favest <3 (because no one beats the Number One Baseball Boy)
I love how Germany, Italy, and Japan went from planning battle strategies to comparing each other’s own versions of Furby.
Canon can kiss it, I headcanon Russia as seven foot three inches, Hima can fight me.
I headcanon him as two meters with Netherlands being 1-2 cm taller bc the Dutch are known to have the tallest people in the world.
So I have some HCs about Prussia’s famous diary, and a HC on Russia's stance on journaling, hope you enjoy!
APH Prussia: A huge thing that shapes how I view Prussia in general is how focused on order and bureaucratic his kingdom was - because of this I see Prussia as not only interested in categorizing and optimizing things, but also writing them down and cataloging them, but not due to nostalgic reasons or to write it down for future generations, but for very practical reasons. That's why I HC that he is a huge bujo user - he has one every single year and I actually think his canon diaries were not really diaries and more tracking journals. So they weren’t really about creating this narration about his life the way one would tell a story, but tools to plan things and control the schedule, tho he also uses them to note his thoughts & observations, flesh out plants etc, but it’s done in few words, written in a minimalistic military-report style.
Not only are bujos perfect for keeping things organized, but Prussia also enjoys sitting down and really planning out his year in detail - he loves routine and having a schedule, so he literally thinks about each month, each week, and relocates all his tasks and plans themy out so he can be as efficient at completing them as possible, and their timing makes sense in the bigger contex of the year. Writing it down in a bujo makes this huge undertaking a lot easier.
He never fails to update his journal, does it every single day. But! his bujos would be booed out of the Instagram bujo community in a second - they are not aesthetic. They are very clean and organized, with lots of lines and tables, but he does not care at all about making them pretty. To him they are tools and therefore their main purpose is to be useful - so they are all visually very boring, but super optimized.
APH Russia: I think Russia is the type of person who would have a traditional diary way more than Prussia - he would be interested in writing down his feelings, his thoughts about events, art, culture, architecture, his insights about the changing seasons, even poetry. His diaries are a set of artistic, insightful essays and interesting to read. He writes beautifully in them, but very irregularly as in general I see him as having issues with discipline and consistency.
He loves the idea of bujos, but more in theory than in practice. He is mostly enamored in their aesthetic aspect and often begins one, buys tons of colorful markers, stickers, gel pens etc, puts a lot of effort into making it really beautiful - but then forgets to update it, never actually uses it more than a couple of days in a row, then just abandons it altogether.Â
TL;DR: Even tho I think having trackers and writing things down is huuge for Prussia due to his need for categorization and interest in bureaucracy, and I think his big collection of canon diaries fits him well, I don't actually see him as the journaling type, and by journaling I mean: writing down long paragraphs about your day, inner world, feelings etc.
While I do see Russia as the journaling type, writing down very long beautiful entries about multiple subjects and being really insightful abt his own inner world in them, but struggling with being consistent - there can be months between each entry.
