thanks for running your blog, I think you're doing a great job!
I resonate with hetgnc, and initially thought virago could become a useful term for me personally...
but I am not attracted to intrafem/Mollis men, so I am feeling a little out of place again. (please picture the "happy for you" kid meme)
have you found in your journeys a term or community for intramasc women who are attracted to intramasc men?
cheers
Aww, thank you so much for the kind note about the blog!! About your question— a few things!
First— HetGNC is a broader label, so anyone whose identity is significantly GNC in a “hetero” (M/F) context is included with it! You don’t have to be either virago or mollis to be HetGNC, those are just two specific identities that fit under the HetGNC umbrella as well. So you’re totally good to keep using HetGNC for yourself!
Second— The definitions for virago and mollis are actually a little looser than that!
Virago is a label for women attracted to men, and also are: masculine, OR dominant (sexual OR nonsexual), OR attracted to feminine men… it’s most common for viragos to be all three, but not required!
Mollis are men attracted to women, and also are: feminine, OR submissive (sexual or nonsexual), OR attracted to masculine women… it’s most common for mollis to be all three, but not required!
Also, there are many ways the words “masculine,” “dominant”/“submissive”, and “feminine” can be defined, and it’s left to be subjective like that on purpose.
So, just like how there are feminine (including intrafem) viragos, there are also masculine (including intramasc) mollis!
Third— You absolutely do not HAVE to use the virago label for yourself if you don’t feel like it resonates with you / is useful to you. It’s entirely possible that you “technically fit the definition” but maybe don’t relate to other viragos enough for it to make sense to you to use the label. The label is intended as a tool, not a box!
HOWEVER, being attracted to intramasc men (or even masc men in general) doesn’t disqualify you! You “count” already, on the basis of being a masculine woman attracted to men. (In fact, I think that could be an interesting perspective to explore if you ever feel like posting about it! Most of the conversations in the community are currently about masc x fem, but that’s not all that’s allowed! I encourage everyone to create the content they want to see!)
Lastly— PLEASE go check out the definition/info pages I have on my blog for virago and mollis for an explanation of the definition and what the labels are intended to be for! It’ll help you understand how and why masc mollis and mascxmasc viragos exist.
Hopefully that helps! I’m here if you have any more questions!
