It's been a while.
Anyways, here's the House of Winter or whatever.
I never thought much of these guys, they really only exist to give Venus the standard repertoire of two factions at odds with humanity that nonetheless hate each other.
What I remember the most about them was how confused I felt when finding out the guys that call themselves the 'House of Winter' decided to make their base in the hottest planet in the solar system.
What were they thinking? It's even 99% rainforest there.
At the very least, they had a cool part during the House of Wolves DLC, but only because the Wolves were trying to make them their bottom b...

So I've been thinking about sprite hex. She was clearly happy as a sprite, but was it because she liked how it felt to be a sprite, or was it because now that she passed for normal, she could be with other people?
Bob specifically told her he liked her better as a sprite. Presumably that was because she could cause less damage that way, but black hex was no longer a danger. In fact, her losing her powers was a detriment to her main objective, which was helping/protecting Bob.
As with everything else, I'm seeing this through the ol' autism lens. After her code was fixed and she could be herself, that should have been enough. It shouldn't have mattered that she was still a virus.
There were good things to being a virus, like saving Bob from falling into the energy sea, or chucking the armada out of Mainframe, or saving Bob from being zoom-roomed. Once she loses those powers, she can't protect him as well. She can't fly him to safety or keep him from Daemon. Technically becoming a sprite (normal person) should have meant she lost the all-important power to control nulls as well, which really would have driven the point home that being normal isn't always best for society.
They teach us autisms that we don't need to be cured or pass for normal anymore. We just need the bad stuff (anxiety, ocd, ect) held in check so we can use the good stuff how we want to. I'm happy being an autism with my cool stuff being cool while the bad stuff is fixed.
Also, trying to be normal or something you're not so people will like you is coincidentally called 'masking', and it's exhausting. When Hex states that viruses are light on their feet while in sprite form, that says tons to me. Not only does she still consider herself a virus, she states it as a positive thing. But now that she's a sprite, Bob might love her, so she embraces it.
Fun fact: one of the reasons my wife married me is BECAUSE my autism makes it near impossible for me to lie. She never has to worry about it in the slightest. It was an asset that I wouldn't have had if I was normal, and so wouldn't have the love of my life.
Anyway, seeing as Hex is not dead (SHE'S NOT DEAD!) I hope she comes back as cured black Hex. I'd like to think that if she felt she'd be loved as much in her virus form as she was in her sprite form, she'd choose to look the way she always looked and be able to do the things she always did, and show people she doesn't NEED to give all that up to be loved. That being a virus doesn't automatically make you bad.
And that being a sprite doesn't automatically make you good, or really any less dangerous.
Let's face it. Sprite Megabyte would have been just as dangerous in sprite form. Hell, CYRUS single-handedly ruined thousands of lives.
And viral Hex saved billions.
Let's think on that
Thank you for coming to my HEXtalk.

So some of the replies were really in depth, so I saved them:
I can't thank Metal Gear rising enough for changing the internet's opinion on over-the-top, silly goofy 90's-2010's brand of action and edge.
Ever since everyone started fawning over Raiden, the absolute weeblord cyborg that fights in high heels and acts like he's the idea of a 14 year old's perception of 'cool', more and more people stopped caring about seriousness and embraced sillyness.
MG:R, then DMC, DOOM, even Sonic the Hedgehog, the franchise that had been the laughing stock of the gaming community for almost 20 years, got a lot of the respect it deserved back.
I know these games have had followings since the start but its surreal seeing people enjoy Shadow the Hedgehog and praise D little em C for just how absolutely ridiculous they were.
See them get respect in spite of their flaws and be praised by being absolute batshit insane in terms of character and story instead of bashed about it.
And it all comes from the fucking Status memes that made people realize that just because something is extra and a little cringe doesn't mean it can't be cooI.
They need Peridot for whatever reason and Lapis knowing how much dumbass her dumbass can be sometimes makes sure she has everything she needs and they say goodbye with a kiss on the cheek and everything is just so nonchalant and no one questions it in-universe that you're left wondering just what the hell happened during the timeskip
Continuing with the series of Fallen Houses banners.
I mentioned before that the House of Devils was my favorite -- And that was only a half-lie.
In truth, the Wolves are also up there in my Fallen houses ranking.
I came into the game wayyy late into its lifetime. My first experience with it was with my dad's copy, and I had to save a lot of money to buy my own, DLC and everything.
So when I finally got it, the House of Wolves expansion was the newest shiny toy in the community. And what a shiny toy it was.
Everything just seemed livelier. The Reef was opened up as a new social area (to a questionable degree of success), sidearms were implemented into the game as a new option for special weapons, a bunch of cool ass Fallen-themed gear was added, the liquid-ammo OMOLON guns, the Prison of Elders as a concept...
Whew, it was one of the best times to be a Guardian. So much new stuff suddenly dropped like it was nothing.
And at the center of it were the Wolves. Rebellious, untamed, highly dangerous and thirsting for revenge. For glory.
Every new mission involving them felt like trying to defuse a bomb before the fuse burned out. Every fight felt like the difference between survival and total annihilation.
The Wolves just had this character, this aura of undeniable presence and terrifying will that kept you on your toes whenever they showed up. You knew they were dangerous, they knew they had everyone on the backfoot, and the entire incident felt like an ultimatum:
Fight tooth and nail, or be completely and utterly annihilated.
Well, at least that's how I remembered it.
I didn't have much friends to play with back then, so most strikes and missions I did by myself. And facing Skolas was like going to school with your pants on backwards and no breakfast.
Of course, I managed to cheese it by jumping atop one of the big Vex towers and just blasting him with rockets and sniper rounds, but it still felt like the largest battle of my life.
In the end, the Wolves were defanged and dethroned once again, but their claws and bites left a clear mark in the history of the game. MY history of the game.
From then on, to survive, the Guardians would have to follow the law of the jungle. For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
there’s this glitch on pocket camp right now where midway through watering your plants the music stops completely n every time it happens to me i swear i’ve been thrust into the silent hill of nintendo games
This whole thing about hating heterosexuals and hating men reminds me of kindergarten where boys and girls fought over who has the cooties. Like what are we doing here.
