It's been a while since I last posted 😅 and a lot but also nothing much happened the past few weeks.

I've passed all my courses of the first year for Systems Biology and all but one for Drug Development and I'm super proud of myself for achieving that 🥳.

To celebrate I've given myself permission to take all of the summer break off and only do things I enjoy to help me recharge. Now I'm less than two weeks from classes starting again wondering where all that time went. I would like one more month to rest, but alas that's not in the cards for me.

Next week I'll be on my last trip before everything is back to business. I'm traveling across Germany by train, going to Berlin, Hamburg and Munich (any recommendations are welcome).

The photos are from my trip to Rhodes, which provided some much needed beach days and magical sunsets.

I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to posting more consistently when classes start up again!

07/10/20 - block 1 week 6

The stress is slowly getting to me because it seems like more and more deadlines are piling up.

For the next two weeks I'm going to be writing:

A genetics paper

A drug target paper

A math assignment

A mock grand proposal

A pitch presentation

An essay about a still to be determined topic

A maths exam

Two short catch up assignments

So I might start an X days of productivity series to keep myself accountable, but I'll see 😅

14/04/21 - 2-4/100

The last few days have been filled with zoom lectures, journal clubs and tutorials. I've barely been able to motivate myself to go outside and do something for myself (that doesn't involve watching charmed, again 😅) but I'm making an effort to do small things. Like enjoy the sunset from my window and making my notes look somewhat pretty.

Things I want to get done (or at least start) before the end of the week:

Read my journal club papers (psychiatric neuroscience)

Watch prerecorded lecture (multivariate statistics)

Read journal club paper (multivariate statistics)

Prepare tutorial (modeling metabolism)

Prepare tutorial (psychiatric neuroscience)

19/09/20 - week 3 block 1

Sunshine readings to prepare for a group discussion and studying for the exam on the same topic later next week.

Slowly I'm starting to get an idea for the amount of work I should be doing each week to stay somewhat on track for both of my courses.

Hopefully I'll have a routine figured out by the end of this block in October 😂

Daily, or even weekly posting is still beyond my capabilities. I still might jump back into the spellstudies study challenge prompt whenever I remember or I might not, who knows 😂

I'm three weeks into my courses and it's going alright so far. I don't feel too overwhelmed and I'm still kind of on top of all my work.

It's so warm here today that I decided to move my set up into the garden to make the most of what it probably going to be the last of proper summer weather for the year.

13/10/20 - block 1 week 7

I give you my messy desk which totally reflects my messy mind 😅

I'm almost done with the first block of classes but still not even halfway through the list of things I need to complete before the end of next week. I feel like there's too many things competing for my attention that I can't focus on anything.

Today I'm going to cross two presentations and hopefully part of an assignment off of my to-do list which will make me feel a bit more in control of everything I hope 😂

28/09/20 - block 1, week 5

Will matrix math ever make sense to me 😅

As this block continues I'm starting to feel better about my choice to combine two masters this year. Yes it is stressful but it is also very satisfying to feel that I'm learning so many new skills.

That doesn't mean that I don't question my sanity at least once a week when I'm struggling to get all my readings and assignments done on time 😂
