how their (big brother) gaster treated them as children and why they don’t have a gaster anymore!
Classic’s:
-The classics gaster was nice if not a little too blunt from time to time and overworked himself constantly before falling into the core. I’m thinking that I’m going to have lil sans help gaster out in the lab a lot since he was a “gifted child” so he watched gaster be erased from his timeline badsicly. This papyrus kinda remembers gaster but it’s pretty rogue since he was little little. I’m thinking maybe around ~2 and sans was ~7 when gaster fell. Gaster was cold, distant and a workaholic but never mistreated the classic brothers, sans is haunted by the loss of his older brother, it's why he is so protective of papyrus.
Fell’s:
-The fells gaster was abusive, used drugs and was an alcholic. He would use working in the lab as a way to not have to deal with his younger siblings. The reason red has a gold tooth is because fell gaster knocked it out when he was trying to protect baby edge from getting his other eyelight damaged. (Gaster had been the one to give him his set of eye scars when he was only a baby.) fell papyrus was ~1 and fell sans was ~5. Here’s the thing though, when his gaster fell into the core, red didn’t care. He was kind of numb to death because he is desensitized to it from his uinverse. He was really kind of relieved when he saw gaster was gone since that meant no one was going to hurt them anymore, and all of gaster money+the house in Snowdin was assumed to be theirs to begin with now that everyone’s forgotten about fell gaster. Papyrus was far too young to ever remember their gaster without the trauma he cause him making him repress it, but he knows who gaster was and why no ones remembers him. Red vowed to judge whoever hurt his brother with an iron fist from then on.
Swap’s:
-The swaps are the ones I’ve been kinda indecisive on. While blue is older he is only older by about 2 or 3 years compared to the others. So when swap papyrus was ~3 swap sans was ~5. So swap papyrus has a pretty good memory of gaster but he Doesn’t remember the way that their gaster just disowned them and tried to forget they exists like sans does since sans was old enough to figure out Swap gasters manipulation and mistreatment. Swap gaster was actually a really terrible person to them and left them In very bad situations that swap had to try and deal with himself like how lil swap pap would keep getting sick because they were living in such and awful rundown house without a proper guardian. That’s where the honey comes in actually, blue found out that honey had good effects/healing property’s on humans and decided to try it out when he found a bottle of it that was still good in the dump! It went from sans putting it in papyrus’s soup to just giving stretch spoon fulls when they didn’t have any food left to put it in. swap sans watched gaster fall into the core, but he did so with a smile. He knew gaster would trip over the machines stray wire, he saw it before anything bad happened- he would had said something, if gaster would have any listed to him any other time but he was always told to keep silent in gaster presence while he was working, that it gave faster a headache to even hear him speak... so he kept quiet. blue never told stretch anything about the wrongs faster did, even when stretch started to try and fix the machine to get their older brother back. He ignored the machine and gasters disappearance, and focused on now that they were finally able to afford real food and medicine for his frequently sick brother... but stretch didn’t really get sick anymore. Not with the improved home situation blue managed to throw together with what he had from gasters death. since stretch didn’t ask, he never said anything about knowing of gaster- so stretch just let it linger in his head that blue didn’t know about gaster like everyone else had forgotten. This is where Stretchand the others started having the image of Blue being far younger in their heads.
Swapfell’s:
-The swapfells gaster was pretty well a mix of the swap and fells gaster. Minipulative, physical and verbally abusive, an alcholic, but instead of drugs swapfell gaster had a thing for bringing home prostitutes without care of the young children in the house. (their scars didn’t come from their gaster). Sf sans was about ~5 when sf paps was born. When sf paps was about 4, Sans (9) would go to make sure their gaster was alive from time to time in the lab, but the last time he saw gaster he hadn’t come to make sure he was okay- sans was going to threaten gaster and let him know that if he didn’t start taking care of papyrus and him that he would report him to the Queen (who takes family very serious, ironically). They got into an argument and when gaster wasnt paying attention he slipped and was hanging off the edge of the core, ready to fall in but hanging on my the very wire attached the the machine that tripped him. Sans could have helped gaster, but instead young sans pried gasters hands off the wire and let him be erased. The exp he gained from participating in his older brothers death was also removed after a few short seconds, gone like most of everything related to the vile man. Sans would forever remember what he did though. Papyrus knows what happed to gaster too, but wasn’t told that sans had sped up the process a little. He couldn’t tell because sans hadn’t gained any exp or lv. His HoPe raised a little though, now that they had money and owned the place they lived in. swapfell sans get into the royal guard pretty easy by lying about his age, and ditching the striped a lot earlier than he should have- of course this made him a target for adult monsters, but with his new military training in session... No one would touch the royal guard who seemed to be on the queens good side. Milord promised to take good care of his beloved younger brother, and he made good on the promise with the world he was in, except that papyrus would try and help the humans get by the Queen and guards, and then being labeled as a traitor and charged with treason and human smuggling, the Queen would have taken the tole on both of papyrus’s eyelights. leaving him almost fully blind- but sans had taken place for half of his punishment, smooth talking the Queen with wispers of family and how he should have been more observant the humans when his brother was taking the to her as he knew they would manipulate him into turning against the Queen. It worked, and that’s why they having matching scars, but on opposite sides! Sans lost a lot with papyrus’s empathy problem, and went down many ranks in a split second that he had to work hard to climb back up. It also plays a lil role in why mutt acts like.. well a dog to sans. This also is why if they go back to their underground, and the Queen finds out mutt was helping chara- he will be sentenced to death.. so they can’t really go back to their universe. It would be all the more merciful for classic sans to kill them instead.
