okay okay I know I just posted but I'm locked in, I wanna talk about one of the reasons we have been MIA
last year about this time we quit going to visitation with our dad for a multitude of reasons. for some context this is our visitation schedule, court wise.
friday 6pm - saturday 12pm
friday 6pm - Sunday 6pm
every other weekend we switch times.
we have four weeks in the summer but its not mandated how these weeks are had. so we went every other week on Friday 6pm to Friday 6pm I think, idk I was dormant at this time.
we also go on holidays every other year.
okay okay so we wanted to go on Saturday instead of Friday and stay until the next Saturday. I had to do homeschool, chores, and wanted to spend more time with my (at the time) new boyfriend(we’ve been together almost a year now i’m so happy)
My dad ended up calling the police, same officer that arrested me a year or two prior (different story) and i expressed that i really didn’t want to go in general. My dad is very erratic with schizoaffective and bipolar, both he’s diagnosed with.
NOTE; PEOPLE WITH BIPOLAR AND SCHIZOAFFECTIVE ARE NOT INHERENTLY DANGEROUS!!
My dad is very violent, erratic, and a sex offender. I have seen him hit walls, hit his head against the wall, and hit his head with his fists. Same day. Anyways he was getting… manic?? Like this again and I didn’t feel safe alone with him. The police told me i either went with him or they arrested me. (THEY CAN’T DO THIS!! THEY CAN’T THREATEN OR FORCE ME TO GO AS THIS IS CONSIDERED A CIVIL MATTER. ESPECIALLY IF I EXPRESS FEAR FOR MY SAFETY.)
So anyways, i go, and the whole weekend he rambles on and on about how “he did the right thing” and how “everyone was cheering for him”, making me feel like he was only happy I was there because he got what he wanted. He also told me in the eyes of the law i am considered property to him. Funny because he ONLY has visitation rights.
Why hasn’t this gone to court yet? My dad didn’t have the money. But now he’s living rent free with his babymom and he’s getting disability money now. He also can’t do anything in the beginning besides fine my grandmother (his mom), but with me not going almost a year now he can take this to court.
i don’t know what else there is to this, again i’m pretty sure i was dormant around this time but I know i’m leaving out some details. I’m also older than 13 so if and when this goes to court, because it will, i have a lot of say if i continue visitation.
