"I guess," he begins, drawing out his words. As if he's nervous about what to say next. "Once this is all over we can go back to how things were before." He continues. Missing the way y/n's heart cracks a little from his words. She nods anyway. "I guess so." She confirms, hoping her true feelings don't show through.

"Great." As soon as the word escapes him, he regrets it. What is he doing. This isn't how he really feels. He doesn't want things to go back to the way they were. He wants them to stay this way. The only thing he would change is their relationship. He doesn't want to pretend anymore. He wants the real thing. His heart aches and his chest feels heavy. But that isn't what she wants. He forced her into this and now she probably can't wait to go home. And be rid of him.
