Big news! We’re incredibly happy to announce that DUDE-061 will be the new album Apophenia by Faster Circuits! This is the 2nd album from Derek Almstead and co., and fans will not be disappointed.  From Orange Twin: Apophenia finds Faster Circuits' brain-man Derek Almstead working through the murk and mumble of this sad past half-decade with the clarity you’d expect from this accomplished and variegated instrumentalist/producer. The eight tracks over its 36 minutes wield a generous pop sense whose methodology and melodic genetics find split parentage in Psychedelic New Zealand and, of course, the new traditions of halcyon Athens, Georgia Elephant 6 heyday Almstead helped forge as a member of Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, Circulatory System (fill in your desired grocery list), and, veritably, as the late-era staff producer and mastering engineer for that whole crew. DUDE-053 John Kiran Fernandes “II”

The second solo album by Circulatory System, The New Sound of Numbers, Lavender Holyfield, Dream Boat, Old Smokey, Jacob Morris, and The Olivia Tremor Control member John Kiran Fernandes. Featuring appearances by cellist Alec Livaditis, percussionist Courtney Parker, John's two sons Ravi and Kiran on organ, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Key. Ethnic music and free jazz influenced mostly instrumental music. Deep moods, absorbing textures, and shimmering melodies featuring John on bass clarinet, clarinet, violin, kalimba, and little instruments. You don’t want to miss this one!! Fall ‘15 Batch

Friends of HFTTD, we’ve returned after a brief hiatus to announce 3 more tapes for the fall docket. Don’t forget, we’re still rockin’ the 4 for $20 deal so don’t be shy and stock up on all the sounds you’ve come to know and love!

After a bit of a delay we’re finally prepped to announce our involvement with the latest Blessed Feathers album. There Will Be No Sad Tomorrow will see a limited cassette release (100 copies) with the first 22 orders receiving a unique hand-painted slipcover by Rob Wilson. Fans of the band likely already know that the vinyl release of the album was Vinyl Me, Please’s featured LP for the month of October. We’ve been fans since 2011’s From the Mouths of the Middle Class, which saw a very limited tape release on the wonderful Cakes & Tapes label so we were pretty pumped to see the band get a healthy amount of recognition for their efforts. Read the NPR feature piece on the band, stream the album (arguably their finest work) and pick up the tape. Now shipping!

HFFTD has finally tapped the ever and always fertile Dayton, OH scene for a split release with longtime label friends Smug Brothers and Brat Curse. The Smugs occupy side A with the perfect blend of quick hitting GBV-esque hooks and Replacement jangle-pop. Brat Curse pumps out one infectious garage anthem after another on the B side, invoking two of our favorite masters of the trade, Ty Segall and Jay Reatard. Members of the Smug Brothers are also involved with their own tape label, Gas Daddy Go!, so we’re forever in debt to the band for sharing some of the riches with us! 100 baby blue tapes with the usual first 22 copies arriving with the screened/painted slipcover. French Exit is an enigmatic musical project from Athens, Georgia, led by AJ Griffin (of Laminated Cat, The Olivia Tremor Control, and Circulatory System) and featuring Derek Almstead (of Faster Circuits, The Glands, OTC, etc). Fantastical phase-shifted psychedelia, rippling with intricate keyboard and vocal layers. Their debut album Jerk Store will appeal to fans of The OTC, The Gerbils, and other bands in the Elephant 6 Collective... as well as to mystics, maniacs, lovers, and people from other star systems.
