I saw your fandom elder post and I want you to know that you're my fandom elder. I'm only a few years younger than you but I found blog when SaL was still a wip. Over the years I've followed your blog I've grown so much. I've learned to accept who I am and treat myself with more kindness than I did before. I learned how to speak up for myself and ask for help when needed. I know the world isn't a great place lately but your blog and advice and spirit have helped keep me going.

I've had this response open with like...a gif and that's it for about 24 hours.

I don't actually know what to say (but I'm gonna try) because this a very humbling thing to hear, but also I'm like 'omg please don't listen to me I have no idea what I'm doing alongside serious mental health issues.' But then at the same time, I know how much it helped me when I was younger to know older (flawed) folks out there with health issues and mental health stuff who talked about it while still creating actually helped me a lot, when I felt like I had to 'solve' myself before I could be successful, or enjoy life.

And it turned out that wasn't true at all.

Basically...I hope you can find many wonderful fandom elders, anon. And I'm sure to other folks you're also a fandom elder, who others look up to <3

And the world is a bit of a clusterfuck lately, right? Gives hugs. I think we're all trying to get through it as best as we can, and if we have days or hours or weeks where we give up for a little bit, that's very understandable. I'm very fortunate to get asks like this though, I still don't think this is a very good response, but I also don't think it's really fair to leave this sitting in my ask for like 100 years either.
