Okay so I know this has been in my Inbox for... a while... but I've been thinking about it for the ENTIRE time. Here is literally only SOME of my old fic recs, le classiques as one might say (aka the ones I read when I was 13 and are in brain forever).

PSA: Some of these, I have not reread since I was 15-16. Also not in any order in particular. Whatever I could remember first :)

Everlark: The Classics #1

okay. so. I won't assume someone will remember my blog last year where I promised I will list down the everlark fics classics (in my opinion) for those whose new to the fandom and those who came back from the renaissance last year. Sooo, instead of having them compiled in a neat list, I will post them individually with a corresponding moodboard and small review (probably once a week? let's see)

With that said, I present you the one and only: Waterlily by HGRomance!

Waterlily is a modern AU where Peeta is an exchanged student spending a year in Panem Island, where he stays at Katniss' village and his host family. I won't spoil it for those who never encountered this masterpiece but the whole build up of their relationship is an interesting dynamic that sets it apart from other fanfics I read.

The setting alone makes it unique from the rest. Islands, rural seam community, beaches, then boom a sudden white boy coming in the picture. The way this fic entangles and straightens the everlark HEA is such a fun read especially the added character of Katniss' here. (I'm dying to spoil it lol). The writing is poetic, as always, if you're a fan of HGR's works. The pacing, especially that one scene that breaks and makes it all (something about a cave) was a tear-jerker.

It's safe to assume this is one of the classic fic every thg fan should read when they wanna start getting into the rabbit hole of fanfiction, hence why I chose it as a welcoming fic for this series. I went down my review history to the very beginning, when I first started reading fanfic. These were the first fics I read, the ones that made such an impact on me as a writer and fangirl. I have others but these stood out to me because they are the ones that drew me into writing.

Was looking for an everlark one shot to read before bed when I came across Legend. Saw it was written by you and told myself "don't open it. If it's anything like Rebel you won't be able to sleep until you finish it. You have to be up at 5:30 to sub for middle schoolers. You just wanted a one shot" and dammit I ignored all of that and am drowning in feels. And now while coming to leave this ask I find out you have original work?! Jumped to the top of my must read!

okay so since tons of you love waterlily so much, here's another masterpiece from HGR and I doubt any old fan never read this before (if so then shame on you jk). Where do I begin? just the fact that Katniss is Snow's granddaughter here is intriguing enough. Peeta as the mockingjay? come on man you're missing a lot.

Although the story is compact into eight chapters, Enemy is one of the most popular fic HGR had published. It follows Katniss taken hostage by the rebels and her breakthrough from becoming the youngest and most lethal gamemaker to the most delicate and misunderstood child. With Peeta's help, she slowly accepted her vulnerability and denied childhood. From there, their story is, like Waterlily, tangled and untangled into intricate weaves of red strings. Once again, HGR's writing never fails to bring out my manic love for katniss and peeta and I hope the same for you guys. This is devastatingly good. It's a short read so it's like, you can binge it again and again. The angst, the build up, the fragility of Katniss' character and her experienced pressure from being a family to the president is felt so deeply I just want to hug her. Not to mention the single memory plotline makes it more heartbreaking and the ending is so, so unique. This is a classic. Read it now, I meant now!

An amazing fanfic that made me swoon. Peeta was so amazingly sweet that jIust wanted to hug him and never let go. I pity Mr Mellark and anyone who had to witness Katniss and Peeta's interactions lol. Poor Katniss, she felt so bad and put her walls up without knowing it after knowing of Peeta's escapades. So Glad that they found there way to each other and lived happily with an amazing family!

Enemy: I'm Katniss Everdeen-Snow. I'm eighteen years old, the president's granddaughter, and the youngest Gamemaker that Panem has ever known. Amazing what-if fanfic! Katniss was so sweet to help Peeta by acting all authoritative and threatening despite her age. Snow really did a number on her and Peeta, I fuckin hate him. Well what do you know, Kat Everlark (as if Peeta won't know where the last name came from) XD So glad he found his way to her and nothing can keep them apart!

Poet: Peeta is a famous erotic poet who sends readers into a tailspin with his verse. When he moves to Katniss's university hometown, she finds herself at his front door, hoping to get a critique of her story. One-shot. Modern AU. Written for the s2sl charity.

Were you like, trying to make people feel weirdly aroused by this??!! I loved this smutty, hot fic. How epic of Peeta to say all those vulgar words in front of a mortified Katniss haha. The smut was oh shit! and their future relationship, no doubt, won't ever be boring XD

I liked this, poor Peeta, having to live with the images of Finnick fucking Katniss in two different ways. I loved Katniss' rebellious spirit and the fact she was doing most of it for the community was so heroic. One thing iI don't like was that it took them so damn long to get together and the fact Peeta kept thinking of Madge and rubbing her in Katniss' face even after knowing how she feels for him. That was shitty and pissed me off. Happy to see that they finally ended up together and Katniss loved him enough to start speaking again!

The idea of Peeta as a bad boy and player was, idk different. His personality has always been so charming and sweet that it surprised me. So cool to see their quick connection to each other. I loved the fact that everlark had to hide their relationship, makes it hawt!! Very informative and well written and I am so damn happy to see that they finally found each other and didnt have to hide anymore. Peeta, please work on your proposal skills XDD

Amazingly amazing, this one over here! Thank god Peeta, in a way, saved her from having to marry and bear kids of Seneca fuckin Crane. he doesn't deserve her!! Dancing around their feelings is such a Katniss and Peeta thing to do its not even funny. Hot as fuck sex and then they had to fall in love, damn! (damn for them, I was celebrating ;) ) They really had to go through so much but it doesn't matter much, because it brought them to each other and made them stronger. I loved their kid, so talented like his parents. Pretty cool conception there, kid!!

This is my favourite fanifc written by you!! and one of my all-time favourites in fantasy genre. Poor them, they both suffered so much after losing each other. they were so young but the fuckin Faes took him and hurt them both. How utterly clueless in love were they that they never entertained the possibility of being each other's Moonlight and Sunset. The hunger games type of challenge was so amazingly done and I believe no one could've written a fantasy version of the games better! "I remember you." awww such a tender and amazing moment. Poor Peeta, he did the right thing letting her go but it rewarded him in the long run. Mr Everdeen, so glad he remembered (wIas feeling sus when he disappeared without trace) such a sweet moment to see the Everdeens finally reunited. I loved the ending and it was such a wonderful journey :D Can someone bring me Finnick so I can kill him? Hated him in this. And would've loved some everlark babies but hey! it was perfect!!!
