Soft whimpers followed by muffled gasps and hiccups could be heard from the bathroom late at night.
Loud enough to awoken Xavier, his eyes blinked open, the sleepiness faded as soon as the sounds hit his ears.
Alex...
Rushing out of bed, his feet hit the ground with gentle thuds marching to the door.
"A-Alex...?"
His hand resting on the door, impatiently waiting for an answer.
"Alex are you okay...?"
Still no answer.
Xavier had to wait for a few minutes before the bathroom door creaked open. The ash blonde's hand reached for the knob to pull open more, greeting a reddened, tearful Alex.
Xavier was concerned. "What's wrong?"
"N...Nightmare...."
"Oh...Alex..."
His hand gently took ahold of Alex's hand, ready to guide them back to bed. But Alex stood still, panic arose in her eyes.
"W-Wait I don't wanna sleep- I'm scared..."
He was understanding, kissing Alex's forehead in reassurance.
"That's okay...we still have more of those animal cookies from yesterday. We can have a midnight snack and...talk, maybe?"
No response from Alex, only wrapping his arms around the taller blonde, accompanied with a sigh of relief.
Xavier smiled tenderly.
"C'mon....I'll make some tea too."
