Made it in time, @amedotweek I’ve had this down on paper for the longest time, figured I should use the free for all day as motivation to share something for once.
My take on an Amedot fusion, Sodalite! You can probably tell she’s heavily inspired by DBZ. That’s cause one of the first things I designed for her was her Super Saiyan-esque hair, combining Ame’s wild locks with Peri’s updo. It then clicked for me that that would be the kind of show the two of them would watch and enjoy together so I went all in on that design, with the Saiyan boots and the scouter from Peri’s visor flowing from that. The fusion vest and Super!Broly’s butt cape I reasoned coming from Ame’s top and shorts splitting due to the size increase (she’s now taller than Garnet if you measure the hair).
The two mouths came from wanting some multiple part in there and knowing how loud both of them tend to be. They usually function simultaneously but can split for various reasons, ie only Amethyst’s mouth will eat, while Peridot’s will spout most technical knowledge (luckily they’re color coordinated). I imagine her being voiced by Monica Rial doing Bulma.
As for powers, she can emulate DBZ ki blasts by creating scrap metal balls with Peri’s ferrokinesis and igniting them with Ame’s fire causing them to explode with enough force. They get to be pretty large. Ame’s whip has been modified (since that seems to be how Garnet’s gauntlets work), with it now being braided from steel wire which Sodalite can freely control. This allows it to become a Cat-o-Nine Tails, attack from multiple angles, or move in unpredictable ways.
Personality wise I picture her being pretty bombastic, taking the energy and youthful enthusiasm from both with fewer inhibitions due to having a fusions (almost) natural self esteem. Not to say that she wouldn’t have buttons to be pushed, but that they would be harder to push.
I’m tempted to do another version with actual line art, but I’m surprisingly happy with how it came out so we’ll see. Either way I’m happy to contribute something for once and I’d love to hear comments and criticism, especially in regards to colors. Hoping this’ll be the start of me posting more.
