Panther / Tiger

Now if this isn't the most beautiful specimen I've ever seen. My good friend tells me that it's likely a panther, but I feel like it's a well worn Tiger. They've got some strong muscles you know. They've been known to die standing up. No insult to panthers, they're one of my favorite cat species. Where was I... Oh yes, an intern was asked to leave after attempting to stab someone with sticks between their fingers. Not sure what that was about. Maybe we shouldn't have let him pack it up for transport on his own.

Hidden Secret

Pairing: Liam x Drake

Word count: 716

Warnings: angst, Driam (hinted), incest (hinted)

Summary: Constantine kept a secret that changed his sons lives.

They sat in in the study stunned, they couldn’t believe what they had just read. This had to be some kind of a cruel joke—it couldn’t be real. The documents had to be fake, this couldn’t be their reality. They couldn’t be—no it had to be a mistake, this wasn’t real. Their eyes met and they quickly averted their gaze. No this couldn’t be true. There was no one that was involved still around to tell them the truth. Bianca was long gone, she left when Drake was a boy after Jackson had died. Constantine was dead, the entire reason they were sitting in Liam’s study reading the letter and documents they were.

They felt sick, this couldn’t be the truth. Why wouldn’t anyone have told them earlier? They should have been told when they were kids, before they had fallen for each other. Everyone had know how close they had gotten, why didn’t someone say something before it was too late? They had always thought Constantine felt responsible for Drake and Savannah because Jackson died trying to protect him. Now they knew it was something much more that had made Constantine allow Drake to stay, and Savannah with him.

They had been caught kissing on more than one occasion growing up—why didn’t someone sit them down and tell them then? Why were they allowed to be left in the dark for so long? Bastien had to know, he was the one who made sure they knew about the documents now. He was the one who first caught them, why didn’t he say something then? Why did he allow the lies to continue for so long?

They couldn’t look at each other, not that they now knew the truth. The things they did, it was wrong. They felt shame at the things they had done, the feelings they felt. They felt anger, rage at their father for allowing the lie to go on for so long. Their father—they shared a father. By the documents in front of them he always knew, so why then did he allow them to have the relationship they had? He knew, he knew they were really brothers, he knew they were kissing—and more, why didn’t he stop them before it got to that place?

How did they move on from here knowing what they were? Obviously their relationship had to change, had to stop. No, they couldn’t do that anymore, no matter the feelings they felt. It didn’t matter, not anymore, they couldn’t cross that line anymore. It didn’t matter how good it felt, how much they craved each other. No it was wrong, with the truth out—everything was different. They couldn’t allow it to carry on anymore.

The question was—why did their father allow it to carry on? He knew, they knew he knew. How could he turn a blind eye to his sons? His sons, they were brothers. One letter, two birth certificates, the DNA results—it change everything. Nothing would ever be the same again.

They grew up as friends, to lovers—in reality they were brothers. It couldn’t be real, it felt like some kind of twisted nightmare, joke. The truth was staring at them in black and white, they were brothers. They had always joked that they were closer than friends, that they looked like they could possibly be related—but they hadn’t meant it, it was a joke. In reality the truth was always staring back at them, and no one ever thought they had a right to know, even if what they were doing was wrong because of it.

They didn’t know if they would ever be able to look at each other again. Everything was different, their entire lives were lies. Drake was the hidden secret, the bastard prince, no claim to the throne—yet royal blood ran through his veins. No everything was different, they could never go back to the way things were before. No, everything changed—no longer lovers, not sure if they could even be friends anymore, all because they were really brothers. A secret that never should have been kept changed everything, they couldn’t even look the other in the eye. Everything was different, tainted—all because of one hidden secret.
