How to Camouflage or Hide Valuables from Visitors, Thieves or Looters:
Need to hide some money? Documents? Keys? Maybe meds. The first rule; don’t talk about things you want to keep private. The second thing is to use your imagination, and research ideas, to hide private things at home, office or on the road. Most folks think they’re set once they’ve stockpiled enough food, water, and gear. But the truth is, having supplies isn’t enough. If things really go south, blackouts, economic collapse, civil unrest, it’s not just about what you’ve got… it’s about keeping it safe. Because once word gets out that you’re prepared, people will come looking. That’s why every serious prepper needs to know how to bury, or effectively hide, emergency supplies the right way. As a general rule of thumb, never store your stuff in visible places. Concealment cabinets, shelves and containers are designed to hide valuables, firearms, or other things you want to keep away from thieves, but they do so in plain sight, usually in a decorative way. Keep vaulables and stockpiles secure from privy eyes is essential in today's culture. The first rule of Operations Security (OPSEC) is "don't talk about your stash"! The same goes for the second rule and the third rule! Loose lips can sink ships and the whole nine yards, you know the drill! The fewer people who know about your endeavors, the better. Don’t brag to friends, co-workers and neighbors about your stash, or about the cool things you own. I must make a special emphasis on this stupid habit: don't put pictures of your gear on Facebook, Instagram or wherever. In the best case scenario, you might be laughed at and mocked for being a crazy person; worst case scenario, you may be robbed or end up reported to Homeland Security for terrorist activities.
