As someone who’s experienced isolation on a level not to dissimilar to Higgs.

I’m surprised he didn’t go insane faster.

That shit breaks you in levels that cannot be understood by people who’ve never gone through it “oh well I went through COVID!” Try 10 years of no school, no friends, on and off internet, barely any books, and for a year one single radio.

And Higgs was alone with only his abuser for at least 16-17 years. The only human being he saw for almost 2 decades was the man who beat him almost every day.

I’m sorry but as someone who very nearly killed myself multiple times because of my isolation I not only understand Higgs. I feel genuine empathy for him beyond “that’s sad” I believe he deserves better.

Then he was forced onto the beach??? I’d kill myself way faster then he did.

Higgs is a character hunted by deep loneliness, a desperate wish to die and find a reason to live at the same time and I feel for him. I know those feeling’s and fuck, I’d have done worse, Higgs is so much stronger than me.
